Advantages:
A good solid device. Previously, the cube had no stiffening ribs and the handles were welded to the lid, which could lead to the lid tearing off the cube in case of lifting a full cube, with all the "ensuing" consequences. Now these shortcomings have been eliminated. Convenient drain tap and wide enough neck to rinse the cube from the inside and wipe clean. It is advisable to calibrate the thermometer before first use.
Disadvantages:
I would like to have a cube made of non-magnetic 304 stainless steel, not 403. You have to make sure that there are no traces of corrosion (even minor ones) and thoroughly wipe the device after use, using oil. But in general, this is not a problem, of course.
Comment:
It is quite possible to obtain a high-quality product with a strength of 70-75% from the first haul, if you slowly separate the "heads" and cut off the "tails" and be sure to use an on-load tap-changer (even two tap-changers are possible). If desired, a second distillation can be made, obtaining an 80-82 degree product for use in its pure form without additional purification. Unless, soften with vanilla sugar or other food additives.
