Comment:

In connection with the transition to digital broadcasting, it was necessary to provide a grandmother, who is over 90 years old and who suffers from problems with short-term memory, with a remote control with which she could control a bundle of LG 32LH2000 TV + iconBIT Movie T2 without retraining.

We needed a large remote control with a minimum of buttons. A couple of remotes for grandma is a problem. Especially the native console of the console, which has very small buttons. I bought a One For All Zapper URC6820 remote first, but it couldn't tune into this particular LG TV. I fought with him for half an hour. I set up and taught with codes. But the LG TV flatly refused to turn on and off with the One For All remote control. I suspect that some kind of buggy copy of the remote control was caught. on another Samsung TV and the same iconBIT Movie T2 prefix, the URC6820 remote control tuned up normally. But it's not about him.

This HAMA Big Zapper remote fits LG and the iconBIT console without any problems. Used training mode.
The remote control is sold in a blister. If for some reason it doesn't work, they won't just change it for you. Only if you can prove that the remote control is not working. This was clarified in advance in the store. Well, okay, 500 rubles for December 2018 is not a terrible price for such a device.

The remote control fits well in the hand. Blue buttons in the dark glow slightly (fluoresce). When you press any button, the power button on the remote flashes red. Dimensions 15 cm in length, slightly less than 5 cm in width, thickening at the bottom of the remote control - about 3 cm. It fits well in the hand, although personally I would be more comfortable if the buttons [volume +/-] and [channels + / -] were at the bottom, and the numbers 0-9 were at the top, but this is already nitpicking.

There are LG TVs in the list of devices for automatic setup, but I did not use this setting. It was necessary to get a hybrid combination of buttons so that the power button controls the TV, and the rest - the set-top box. Trained this remote control from native remotes.

The [TV], [STB] and [Setup] buttons are assigned standard commands and cannot be changed.
The remote control has 2 operating modes: you can conditionally call them "TV" and "set-top box", they correspond to the buttons [TV] and [STB]. In each of the modes, the remote control can be programmed to fully control one device (as long as the available buttons will last). Press [TV] - the remote control switches to "TV" control mode, press [STB] - the remote control switches to the "set-top box" control mode.
My goal was to make my grandmother, by pressing any buttons, including [TV] and [STB], continue to control the TV and set-top box at the same time. Therefore, I taught the remote control the same way 2 times: first in the [TV] mode, then in the [STB] mode.
So, in this regard, the One For All Zapper URC6820 remote control, which has only one operating mode, would be more convenient, and programming it would be 2 times faster. But, as I wrote above, he was unable to make friends with LG TV.

Result: 2 weeks - "normal flight". Granny easily switched from LG TV remote to HAMA Big Zapper remote. Everything works, grandma is happy.
