Advantages:
The build is good. The matrix is mounted in such a way that its frames are not squeezed, there is no light. Rare case. Very pleased). I liked the matrix itself too. I don’t know about all the RSL’s coverage, purely subjective - everything is juicy, clearly beautiful. It's a pleasure to cut into toys. Well, except that the brightness would be one division more. For hardware, I took the office-gaming version: i5hf + rtx2060. Out of the box, the percent goes terribly overvolted and in games it fries 95 degrees and above, so the undervolt is anyway. In my case, -0.190 V and temperatures in toys began to fidget in the range of 80-86, which is quite good. Under load, the processor keeps its maximum frequencies very stable, which is a huge plus. The GPU does not heat up at 98% load above 70. Cooling is very good. It makes noises, of course, but in gaming laptops it does not happen otherwise. And the noise, by the way, is not as brutal as, say, my satry acer helios 300. It just took off. There is such an even hum, noble) The keyboard is cool. It's just a pleasure to type. It's a thrill). The backlight is white - great too. Not that these gallop multi-colored spillikins from competitors, kindergarten). Playful pulls with a bang. Fifth Far on ultras flies like a pissing broom, Metro Exodus - too, Border 3 - on ultras 45-70 fps, so I cut 60-90 fps on highs. Old Metro and far 3, 4, doom 2016 also outplayed at maximum speed - kayfanul..fps goes off scale there. In general, the mobile 2060 is a worthy vidyakha, it will allow you to play whatever your heart desires, at decent quality settings. The main thing is, do not try to install fresh firewood from the nvidia website, you will regret it))
Disadvantages:
With a num-pad, they were wise. PgUp, Dn, Home, End were clearly placed in the wrong place. They took it, combined it with the arrows, so that we could chuckle with Fn, morons, what did they think?!? Why not do it as everyone usually does. As a result, when the num-lock is turned off half of the num-pad are just useless buttons .. very stupid. The bottom cover has no hatches for access to RAM and drives. You have to completely rip off the bottom in order to change something there. Inconvenient. Lenovo Vantage is not installed. No way) Yes, and fuck he did not give up)) The sound is quiet and only high. A sort of tweeters that are barely audible against the background of cooling noise.
Comment:
The initial configuration of RAM and storage is of course worthless. 8 GB in one channel is just ridiculous. Those. the manufacturer, as it were, hints - insert the second bar)) That was done immediately (+3 points). The combination of 128 ssd + 1 Tb sata, in my opinion, is a disgusting solution, which is immediately in the trash heap. Not only is ssd microscopic, but also slow, but loading some modern igruhu from a sata disk, well, you can fall asleep. I put the top NVME kingston on the terrain (+17 K), now it's a hell of a rocket). And the most interesting thing is that after replacing the standard drives (I plugged my old 860 evo sata into the second slot), the laptop began to warm up noticeably less !! This became clear from the reduced noise of the cooling system. For example, in farcry 4 at ultras, there is almost no noise at all .. fire!). Of course, I took it without an OS to put a normal cropped pirated Windows without any telemetry and other garbage, which the licensed version is simply stuffed with. In addition, it greatly reduces the cost of the purchase)) We must not forget that a good half of the performance of the laptop depends on the quality of the software and its settings. In general, the laptop is super (it became super after the upgrade =)). The disadvantages are absolutely insignificant and can be solved. The advantages outweigh the feathers like a weight. Recommend!

Advantages:
Perfectly eats up any tasks: two Android Studio, a browser with a bunch of tabs, an emulator and a video player? Easy. Rainbow Six Siege in stable 200+ fps at low (and took it with a powerful percentage) / 140 + at ultras? Easy. Cooling is at a level, at a low load it works silently, under a serious load it is expected to be noisy, it does not cause problems or discomfort to the microphone. With a multi-hour peak load on all cores, without changing the initial configuration, a temperature of 90 degrees without throttling (see the comment about the undervolt and a possible decrease in temperature with higher performance), the frequency remained at 3.3 GHz when assembling chromium. Surprisingly, the weight and dimensions are small for such an iron. A really comfortable keyboard (except that the numpad is too small, but I don't use it), a clear soft-elastic click, the backlight can be turned off completely (and who needs to turn it on, there is plenty of brightness). The touchpad is matte, comfortable and in general there are no complaints, the hard buttons and drivers for Windows do not allow reaching the ideal - they leave much to be desired in terms of responsiveness even after choosing the most responsive profile in the settings, the problem is with the software (see comment). The body feels quite reliable: it does not creak, the assembly is solid. Inside there is a pleasant and extremely easily soiled software, it is easy to clean. I can't say a lot about the screen, I'm not an expert, most likely it won't work with color for really professional work, but the colors and contrast even without changing the profile are much better and more pleasant than many laptop TN and cheap IPS on which you had to sit, and in general the screen is rather a plus ... However, the matrix has a small backlight bleeding in the upper left corner, it is not critical and does not appear in any way. Someone may not have enough maximum brightness (peak brightness below a MacBook for example) in a very, very light environment, I have never noticed this (the brightness is 90%). And in general, for that kind of money, they could report 144Hz.
Disadvantages:
A huge separate minus (- a point for it) - wheezing and crackling appeared from nowhere on all audio outputs, and the problem with the laptop is very common and not widely voiced. If I decide, I will add it. Lenovo support forum thread: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Gaming-Laptops/Lenovo-Y540-crackling-sound/mp/4448320 UPD: an interesting thing, it seems that the problem went away after enabling Secure Boot, but after a couple hours she returned. UPD2: we managed to solve the problem, and most likely the matter is in the interference from the wifi module, when it is loaded, the hiss begins to appear. According to the advice on the forum, I reduced the maximum signal level in the wifi card driver through the Device Manager to 4 and now there is no noise. There is an almost invisible whistle of the coils from the side of the video card; according to reviews on the Internet, it is something like a lottery: if you get caught or not.
Comment:
Config: Y540-15IRH-PG0, i7-9750H / 16GB / 1650 / NVMe 1TB / FreeDOS / Display BOE CQ NV156FHM-N48 60Hz (overclocking gave a maximum of 65Hz even with Pixel Clock Patcher, unfortunately). Undervolt works stably at -150mV for the core, -150mV for the cache. In the ThrottleStop program, it is advised to also disable the Power limit and set 40W / 45W for a long and short processor boost for lower temperatures and even more stable operation. The same build of the Chromium browser already held 3.5GHz / 85 degrees. The webcam is of decent quality, except for the location below. Battery life is adequate "about 4 hours" in sparing mode when sampling with wifi at low brightness. Could have put more battery, to be honest. Who is interested in compatibility with Linux: to run something, you either need to use proprietary drivers (at startup you need to add nouveau to the blacklist), or sit on the built-in video card. The touchpad works better under Linux. Under Linux, the whistle disappears from the coils, and no matter what load is on the laptop, I don't know what is the reason. Fix noise for Linux, fixes the output power of the wifi adapter at 10mBm: sudo iw phy # 0 set txpower fixed 1000

Advantages:
The laptop took more for work, I wanted a kind of not screaming with its gaming orientation, a powerful laptop for everyday tasks, programming and a little gaming in not very new games. Really very quiet operation, you can hear how the fans work, only in games. Very pleasant and almost silent keyboard. Good cooling system, good performance. Thin display bezels, cool design, some ports and a charging port on the back.
Disadvantages:
My laptop comes with the simplest matrix. 60 Hz at 250 nits brightness, color rendition around 45%. On the other hand, before that I had a toshiba satellite 755-16u with a TH matrix and it was really my eye. This display suits me. Probably from 144Hz I would go into ecstasy ... Not a convenient digital block on the right. Lacks Pause, Home, etc. buttons. These keys are available in combination with the Fn key, making operation more difficult. A very easily soiled case, traces of greasy hands remain everywhere, it is difficult to wash off with a damp cloth, you need to look for some alcohol wipes or use a cleaning agent.

Acquired lenovo legion y540-15irh-pg0 2 weeks ago. Equipped with i5 9300h 16Gb RAM, GTX 1650, 128 SSD, 1Tb HDD. I bought it at the MEGABiT store. Paid, delivered in 3 days to Chelyabinsk from Moscow. The laptop was sealed in a lenovo box, there were no signs of opening the box, the seals were all in place. I examined everything very carefully. Of the minuses to the store itself, they work in black, in addition to the laptop, no documents were sent, no receipt, no invoices. Hence such a discount, I bought it for 61,000 rubles.

Advantages:
-Cooling system (just top) -Not the best, but definitely a good IPS screen -Excellent assembly, nice components to the touch; stylish appearance, keyboard backlight -Excellent characteristics of "hardware" in terms of price / quality, good HDD speed -Availability of all kinds of modern and necessary ports USB 3.1 (gen 1), USB C, etc. -Large (well, just huge) power supply, but not I can attribute this to the disadvantages, since there is something to consume.
Disadvantages:
-Not revealed yet
Comment:
(Review of a similar model, but with a 128 GB SSD, otherwise the characteristics are the same) Compared to the previous laptop 10 years ago, this is heaven and earth. Such characteristics in a thin body weighing 2.3 kg and measuring 15.6 inches is a thrill. it is a pleasure to use. I bought it in a complete set without win 10, which I think is also a plus, due to the overpayment to retail chains. Otherwise, in short: The cooling system is just top ... and yes, it makes noise, but the sound is kind of distributed, since hot air is blown out here mainly from the back and in the far part (near the display) on the sides, and from the bottom there are large grilles for the fence, thanks to this, there is silence all the time until you give the laptop a high-performance task, which it will cope with with a bang, without trotting and overheating. The sound is very good, I won't say that from modern competitors, but definitely cool, especially if you include presets from Dolby Atmos. Ergonomics at a height as for me, I don't even know what else I would like to add / redo in this laptop. The only thing is that the webcam is located under the logo at the bottom, but the display can be rotated 180 degrees, so you can think of something. Also, for the sake of compactness, the digital block is here above the arrows on the keyboard, but this is just a matter of habit. There is a laptop on two rubberized longitudinal legs, which makes the stability very, very good. In general, the choice was based on what was available in my region at the time of purchase, but I do not think that I would change my mind if there was a wider range. For my money, an excellent option, to which I bought only another 8 GB RAM bar and that's all he needs. Thanks for reading!

Advantages:
1. Screen. The 144Hz version and the IPS common to the lineup is just heaven and earth with my faded TN and dead pixels in the middle of the screen of a 5-year old MSI GE70. I took from nothing to do in quarantine 2020, but I would have known that the new laptops have such a difference in matrices with the old ones, I would have changed it long ago. Display with minimal frames due to webcam at the bottom of the monitor. The color rendition is beautiful, the eyes do not flow out even at a brightness above average. 2. Iron is just top. Snatched on bldg. price in a well-known retail for 77k: 512GB SSD, 16GB RAM, 144Hz, RTX2060, I5 9th generation. Everything flies, applications open instantly, there are no freezes, lags, freezes and other nonsense. For two months of daily use 12+ hours I have never failed in this regard. Pulls modern toys on good settings: Doom Eternal at maximum speeds of 90-100 fps, depending on the juiciness of the mix, RDR 2 at 50 fps. Remake of RE2 is stable at 120-130 on preulters recommended by gf experience. RE7 is slightly worse on the same settings - 100-110 fps. Imperfect cars like The Witcher 3 pull at maximum speed without straining at all. The same Dumchik, if you believe GFX, will pull pre-bullets on a 2K monitor. For 4K, alas, you need a more serious machine. 3. A very pleasant keyboard on the move: I took it for coding and the keys are pressed so easily and softly that, from habit, I still somehow get double-clicks. Two-level white keyboard backlight. Not RGB, of course, but for comfortable work at night it is more than enough. 4. General ergonomics. Connecting the laptop to an external monitor and keyboard, while closing the laptop, you do not expect that the sound from the native speakers will not be drowned out - the speakers are located on the end of the case - another wow-chip that I experienced after changing the laptop. Rear ports (including for charging). I stuck in everything I need and you don’t tense up with endless wires on the sides. 5. The weight for such a configuration is almost :) acceptable - 2.3 kg. The 17-inch laptop weighed a pound more, so I decided to give up in favor of some kind of mobility.
Disadvantages:
1. The main disadvantage of the model is a completely cannibalistic layout. NumPad was simply destroyed by the designers and is not suitable for anything at all, except for calculations on a calculator. If you need a laptop for programming, buying this particular model, get ready for a serious test of your nerves. The home and end keys are combined with the arrows, i.e. to squeeze them, you need to hold down fn. Ins and del have been moved to unattainable space blindly - Ins is combined with f12 (fn is also needed), delete is to the right of it. Moreover, the hotkeys, it seems, are not wired exactly on the board. Do not expect that pressing 1 with NumLock off will trigger home. Popular programs for changing keys by pressing the namlock work so badly, and the namlock itself is so inconveniently designed for using the good old hotkeys on the numpad that it is much easier to get used to an extraordinary layout. 2. The notorious 144Hz in some games is played against you.In Project Cars 2, for example, you cannot limit FPS, so you have to play on medium settings. The 2060 video card is still mediocre, but 144Hz, if I'm not mistaken, goes only above this video card, therefore, the minus is not relevant on younger models. 3. A giant power supply does not promote mobility at all. Weighs almost a pound. 4. Webcam from below - you will have to twirl the lid of the laptop and move it away from you so that the interlocutors can see not only the chins. 5. Marketing about portable gaming has a double bottom - toys are very limited in fps, and the battery is melting before our eyes. The maximum will turn out to be an hour and a half to raid without an outlet. Better than nothing, but still dubious. 6. It is hard to disassemble - you need to tear off the back cover with force, + in my copy the lower screws do not want to loosen. I wanted to stick in an old SSD, but I scored for an upgrade, while it is under warranty. 7. I would like more time without an outlet, but with such minced meat it is probably unrealistic. More than 3.5 hours in coding mode, social networks, average monitor brightness, power saving mode and half an hour of conf in zoom, I never got it.
Comment:
A very solid model. Though assembled from touch-plastic, this assembly is so good that there are no questions about quality. There is no backlash, the lid moves as smoothly as possible (it can be fixed in general at any convenient angle up to 180 degrees inclusive). In the reviews they wrote / said that the plastic is very easily soiled - I did not understand at all what it was about. I did not notice anything of the kind. Outwardly, it looks quite stylish: the top cover is made of slightly corrugated touch plastic (the same one from which the entire laptop is made), the brand emblem a la Apple - Y, inscribed in the letter O of the LEGION graphics, shines. The touchpad is not rough, like on my old MSI, but it is pleasant to the touch. The finger does not get stuck when moving on the surface, as is the case on cheaper models. Naturally, it is multitouch with gesture support for up to 4 fingers. We were pleasantly surprised by the light bulbs on the capslok and namlok. Under normal load, it does not make noise and does not heat up. In modern graphical games, it heats up a little in the middle of the keyboard. Not pleasant, of course, especially in the heat, but there is no question of boiling water even close. Also, the noise of coolers appears in games, but this is not the roar of a Boeing, but rather the rustle of an air conditioner at medium power. No discomfort, and over time, the noise merges with the surrounding environment. Unless you play in a room with a sleeping person - if the sleep is sensitive, it will definitely interfere with sleep. The laptop is very good, did not regret a single day of buying. I would directly highly recommend it if you are suddenly in doubt (if you do not pay attention to the dubious implementation of the numpad).
22 August 2020, Moscow
Advantages:
- Screen. I was very pleasantly surprised, there is enough brightness (I keep it around 80%) and excellent viewing angles. - Performance. He copes with a large number of open programs without problems, he finished rendering a small video for 20 minutes in 4 minutes. RDR 2 operates at almost full ultras at a stable 60 fps. - Noise level under load. A very quiet laptop, in the same RDR you don't have to increase the sound to hear something, in 6 civilization the noise level is generally minimal, which was very surprising. - Convenience of software. I bought a laptop without Windows, after installation I downloaded the Lenovo Vantage application, it automatically detected all the necessary drivers and installed them. - Compactness and ergonomics. I expected that it would be larger and heavier, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not. I was also pleased with the location of the ports on the back. - Appearance. It looks pretty strict and pleasant, the only thing that gives out the game direction is the inscription Legion.
Disadvantages:
Rather, not shortcomings, but nagging: - Body stain. The keyboard and the area around it are made of plastic, pleasant to the touch, but very easily soiled, but it is quite easy to wipe off. - A month later, sometimes when starting heavy programs or games, a noise appears in the cooler for a short time, as if the blades are clinging to something. It happens quite rarely and I don't want to open it because of this.
Comment:
My model is Legion Y540 81SX012ARK, 15.6 ", Intel Core i5 9300HF 2.4GHz, 16GB, 512GB SSD, nVidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. 4.5 hours with a constant connection to RDP, open Firefox and 1C and a few other programs, that's quite enough for me.A very decent laptop for the price.
June 30, 2020, Moscow
Advantages:
Strict design; quality of materials and workmanship; backlit keyboard; official software Lenovo Vantage; CPU / GPU temperatures (with undervolting at -0.120 v) in games around 78 ° C / 70 ° C, and under synthetic load at 95 ° C / 72 ° C; all the connectors I need are in place; low noise level; successful for 79990r. configuration i5-9300hf + gtx 1660ti + 16Gb (8 added); comfortable FPS in AAA toys.
Disadvantages:
The color gamut of the matrix will not be enough for super-duper-duper professionals who carry out orders from companies on a schedule; it is very difficult to remove the bottom cover for maintenance (it has screws and latches); lacks low frequencies for the speakers, but this is nit-picking; there was a problem with blurring in the windows of some applications, but this was solved using the xpe windows 10 dpi fix program.
Comment:
The bottom lid made me sweat. Of course, I served laptops up to 30k, but not over 80k, so my hands were shaking. The disadvantages could also be attributed to soft touch plastic, but this is a personal matter for everyone. I took it for programming, 3D modeling, working in Photoshop (the color scheme is not important) and, of course, toys for debi ... The laptop is enough for the ears.
June 20, 2020, Smolensk
Advantages:
Even playing the new top games at maximum speed, it practically does not get warm.
Disadvantages:
It's a shame that the screen is not 144Hz, but this is not a laptop problem.
Comment:
I specifically chose a relatively budget laptop from 2060. In fact, there were only two alternatives: legion or tuf gaming a15. After reviewing dozens of reviews that asus heats up like an oven, I chose Legion and made the right decision.
June 22, 2020, Moscow
Advantages:
Cooling Material quality Screen Playable without additional cooling
Disadvantages:
The disadvantage of some connectors, but this is a trifle.
Comment:
I have a 9750HF + 1660TI. Metro exodus 1080 at ultra 60 fps. The processor temperature did not rise above 80 Assassin Creed Odyssey - worse, but at high 60fps it is. Temperature up to 87. For such games, I want to take a stand, although, they say, stones live up to 105, but I don't want this) Definitely like. Not as loud as many people write.
April 27, 2020, Moscow
Advantages:
Opens all programs quickly, does not dull. I like the design, there is no this kids color keyboard. Good equipment with a margin for several years, the screen is very pleasing.
Disadvantages:
Heats up a little during long work. Well the price
Comment:
I bought a laptop to work in video programs, because now I am studying and I needed a powerful enough device. In general, I am very satisfied, but only carrying it with me is a little difficult.
