There is a lot of mess on the internet about these scooters. I will try to explain everything on the shelves. In mid-July 2018, I bought 2 ES2 scooters: one for myself, the other for my wife. And only then I bought batteries for them: it turned out ES4 (the range increased and the engine power too). Therefore, I recommend taking ES4 right away. The mileage of my scooter at the time of recall is 916 km !! My wife has 800 km. Now both of our scooters look and ride like completely new, since we do not jump onto curbs on them and do not ride on potholes at full speed, and after 200 km of run we have carried out an upgrade (replaced creaky and backlash parts with normal ones). We mainly drive on good and medium asphalt, as well as on dirt paths in the Izmailovo forest park. At 900 km, the rear bearings were almost completely worn out, replaced with new Japanese ones and now there is no limit to happiness. It is best to always ride an ES4 scooter in a white S mode (25 km / h), and on a red one only when urgently needed at straight distances and only for a short period of time, since the wires begin to melt due to the high power (then they, of course, can be replaced). I fell from my scooter only 2 times. The first time it was on the red S mode: immediately after installing the add. I went to test the batteries and started to drizzle, at the very first turn on the red mode I ran into a white dividing strip, the wheel slipped and hello, my hands have been hurting from bruises for more than a month. The second time in the forest, along the path at full speed, I drove into the root, disguised as leaves. This had little effect on the scooter). So be careful). I drove 1400 km, nothing from breakdowns, you just need to replace the front tire, otherwise I’m already bald. The people there put custom bushings and other improvements, I didn’t need anything other than revising the rear wing - I bought a rubber mat, made a cap out of it and covered the rear wheel with it (there is still a package in the photo, but now rubber), other custom fenders on it are useless for me - I go to the rain too. There is a type of people who no longer ride, but rebuild a scooter, a car, a bike ... I ride to the slaughter, with raids on the curb and jumps, nothing broke - maybe I was lucky. Curbs up to 5 cm - easy, 7-10 cm starts to break through the shock absorber, not comfortable, but easier than dismounting and lifting the scooter. In the first week, several rubber rings fell out, which I put in a bag with a guarantee - what are they for? All backlash is solved by pulling the screws every 100 km. By the way the mileage - ES2 - 15 km (85kg), ES4 - 25 km (85kg also). I bought it without a battery first - then I wanted it sharply - the dynamics becomes fatter. By the way, about the downpour, I drove in the pouring rain, drowned in a puddle right up to the deck (although Akum is in the handle), in short, my display can withstand sprinkling with water from a mug, count everything else in the pipe - even if you wash it off and pour everything in life is a sealant, then there is no way you can, by the way the stopaks glow under the water, I checked it. On bike paths and free sidewalks faster than the "average" city cyclist (overtook almost everyone). It is already possible to drive on rough asphalt and small cracks, on paving stones. It pulls as it should on the climbs on bridges and in crossings. But they are lying about 30 kilometers. Probably it is possible in an economical mode, in ideal conditions. But, firstly, it is always tempting to sink in, and, secondly, you need good asphalt. I pulled my 100 kg in St. Petersburg at an average speed of 22-24 km / h 18 km with an additional battery.
Disadvantages:
Weight. Even without an additional battery, you can no longer drag it around. The dimensions for public transport are already critical. It will be fraught with rush hour. It is somewhat difficult to keep the speed stable - for the lever stroke the speed range is large. In the kid, Nextdrive is solved by shifting gears. In my opinion, it is more convenient. Handles my weight. On "sport" mode rushing uphill for 20 km. I saw a maximum of 30 km (if the speedometer does not overestimate). For me, this thing is urban. For good coverage. And the speed is no more than 20 - 25 km. Rain, snow - stay in the garage. The primer is already problematic. Himself went to work 18 km per hour (just drive, emotional exercise), my daughter took away and travels around her students in the area. I think this is a very good thing to deal with traffic jams and save the time and effort of a city dweller. You can take something easier, simpler and cheaper. Firstly, the declared maximum speed (30-31 km / h) is the red mode, in which the battery drains very quickly. I have never measured how much you can drive if you drive only on it, but according to approximate estimates, 10-12 kilometers, no more. Secondly, with my average weight (75 kg), I never managed to drive 45 km in the white mode. At the very beginning, I drove a maximum of 38 km, now, after a run of 500 km, the cruising range has become exactly 30 km. It's a little offensive, given my low weight, that after a couple of months of use, the power reserve is already half as much as stated. As for the assembly, in general, everything is fine too. After running 500 km, it rattles a little, plus the rear spring creaks, but not critical. More frustrating is the stiffness of the suspension: there is a feeling that it is not there at all, when driving on paving stones, the vibrations are quite strong and unpleasant, plus they loosen the bolts, and they have to be tightened after each trip. But in general the device is quite strong. Many people say that after 200-300 km of run there is no way without service, but for 500 km I did not do anything except tightening the bolts. If handled with sufficient care, do not ride in mud, do not jump off curbs, etc. - everything will be OK.
