Advantages: Competent manufacturing, smart software included.
Disadvantages: The channel for the frames was made incorrectly - one slide fell inside, barely got it.
Comment: I bought an affordable machine for digitizing all the archives that had accumulated over the years of amateur photography - black and white negative films, color negative films, framed and film slides. Color rendition of negative color films - delighted with its reliability. A couple of years ago I tried to scan on the HP8200 and left this venture: color negatives after color inversion killed their unreliability. I bought it on time - the device disappeared from the market, and instead Plustek has a new model 5 times more expensive. I chose a resolution of 2400dpi - about 2 minutes scan cycle of one frame. Considering the graininess of the films produced by the GDR - very decent. In general, I am very, very satisfied: infrared scanning removes almost 100% (fingerprints that change color rendition, if you look closely, remain; what can you do, you can't hide anything from the younger generation at an early age), i.e. scratches, dust particles, traces of poor rinsing - everything disappears.

Advantages: Ease of handling even bad negatives. For the third year now I have been continuously scanning all the negatives that I come across.
Disadvantages: Slowness.
Comment: Ideal for home scanning. iSRD helps a lot with color films. I don’t use SRD on b / w - I don’t trust it. Silverfast in the bundle is convenient, you get used to using it quickly, then you define for yourself the main functions you need, and then you work on the knurled one. But at first everything goes very slowly.

Advantages: Speed (nimble). Very good scan quality. Compact. Includes slide calibrator, frames for negatives and slides. Also included is a handy, high-quality carrying bag. Even the supplied software (SilverFast) - after the first "fu-fu-fu" - turns out to be surprisingly good. Yes, he does not know how, like VueScan, to make a custom mask of a specific film ... but considering the already wired profiles, the adaptive detection and subtraction of the orange mask, the Color Cast Removal function and automatic color / level correction in Photoshop is a headache with tons of settings, IMHO , just not needed.
Disadvantages: The bundled software scans in multi-pass mode 1. only in 2 passes 2. scans both passes and IR too (why?) But these are trifles, and not a problem, actually, of the scanner.
Comment: I think it's worth the money behind the eyes. For digitizing a film archive - ideal. If anything, I have something to compare with - I have experience in scanning negatives since 98, my first scanner is the legendary Coolscan LS-2000.

Advantages: Ease of work, takes up little space)))
Disadvantages: the firewood was not included for the Mac, I had to go to the manufacturer's website and download from there.
Comment: I bought it, installed it (if the drivers were immediately included, I would put a solid 5) and started using it, now I'm breaking my head that it's better to view a scan or a native program))) the quality is better than that of tablets

Advantages: decent quality plus ease of scanning, which is called "for dummies" to which I myself belong
Disadvantages: installing the software takes some time, the software requires registration, it scandals if you put it on a second computer (although, for example, if there are two laptops in a family, it's convenient), but nevertheless it was installed and works.
Comment: for digitizing a family archive without claims to super quality and printing posters 3 * 4 - that's it.
