Disadvantages: I also did not like the protruding joystick button - it is pressed spontaneously, however, the result is not fatal - waypoints are added along the route, which is even useful sometimes. Low-resolution black and white display (although in terms of power consumption this is a plus)

Comment: Reliable model with modern, highly sensitive GPS receiver.

Advantages: Simple, reliable, convenient. Designed for a specific list of tasks, and he copes with these tasks perfectly.

Comment: I used a site with universal maps for Garmin and uploaded a region map instead of a world map into the navigator. I, a fisherman and a mushroom picker, do not need excessive detailing and colorfulness, so the downloaded map suits me completely. It is mainly used for marking points with fish or mushrooms, and even given to the wife when we go to pick mushrooms so that she can return to the car.

It is convenient to hold in your hands, you can hang it around your neck, but fixing it somewhere (bicycle, motorcycle car) is problematic until you figured out how.

Comment: An excellent device for little money. You can install (i.e. replace the standard one, keeping the name) one .img card up to 4-5 MB in size. This is an average region or a quarter of Moscow - it depends on the detail. In this case, the memory for recording tracks will become less! Maps can be downloaded ready-made or cut yourself in the GPSMapEdit program. True, such cards are of little use, since the screen is black and white and of low resolution. It is convenient to create waypoints and transfer them to the navigator using the free BaseCamp software from the Garmin website. (The same program can download updates, now it's firmware v.3.20) Prepare a couple of dozen points in advance, create a few on the way and feel quite confident in space! Excellent functionality, accuracy of transmitted information, customization of data fields for my needs - compass, speed, azimuths, time calculations - as a pilot, I need it. Does not slow down, does not bug, insane performance on 2 AA-batteries! More than 20 hours. Glare-free, easy to read even with direct exposure to bright sunlight on the display. Even if you fly under very dense clouds, the signal (GLONAS-GPiS by the way ...) keeps very stable! I have never lost my companions! The signal from 4-5 satellites is received at home, 1.5-2 meters from the closed window. The body is made very high quality, no creaks, no backlash. Perfect! Saves tracks. Some people complain about the small memory - well, yes, there is a little ... But since the tracks weigh so little, so large memory is simply not needed. Sometimes it slows down when saving tracks, when switching between modes, but this is not critical - in the "online" work, no brakes or glitches were observed - neither in the heat + 26-28, nor in the cold - -16-18. In a very dense dense forest, the same is an impeccable welcome! I checked it in practice: I walked through a dense forest - the sky is almost invisible, very dense clouds, rain. Passed the test for 5+. satellites were never lost. As a tourist device and as a flight instrument - at the same time - I just recommend! To pilots (if there are guys among those reading), I recommend HIM! Monochrome monitor - t. color still reads worse in bright sun and eats batteries more actively - and even more so - NO touch screens - this is unacceptable in the air, - moisture, condensation ... And that's all. Not a single touch device is controllable ... Try touching your phone with a wet finger. Or with a dry finger on a wet sensor ... You press one - the other turns on ... It will be very distracting ... Monochrome has a better viewing angle. There is NO superfluous, "marketing" in this navigator! Everything is very accessible, understandable and functional! Comment: An excellent entry-level navigator. At first I wanted to take the previous model - Garmin Etrex H, but I could not find it in stores and took this one. I did not regret it at all. It has a number of significant advantages over the previous model. I took it for hunting and mushroom hunting. Through a snow-covered forest in snowfall, it leads perfectly to the designated point. The device is not afraid of rain, snow or frost.

Advantages: Strong reception, GLONASS support, water resistance, finally solved the issue with edging on etrex

Comment: Before that, I used etrexH for a couple of years, I would not say that etrex10 catches better, in my opinion the same. But you have to get used to the menu. And my device sometimes freezes for 5-10 seconds, it only reacts to the shutdown button. Communicated with another user of the same navigator, he has no such drawback.

Advantages: It looks and feels like its predecessor, which has worked for me for about 10 years. The same hard case, rubber in a circle, sealed connector. It seems that everything that should be in such a device is there. In short, it feels like the same old etrex, only there is an overview map of the world (for example, Moscow - Moscow and the points of satellite cities such as Podolsk or Balashikha, for example), because of the fresh chip, I began to catch satellites in my jacket pocket (the old one didn't pockets, and in a damp forest, I hope that in a wet forest the etrex 10 will not fail), long battery life, and much longer. Well, spherical glonass in a vacuum, while the satellites are not in the ocean, is also rather a plus. And, finally, in the map / track, you can wind the map outside of what surrounds the point of the current position. Hurrah. And dots are entered in Russian letters, and the length of the name is finally normal.

Disadvantages: 1) The joystick button protrudes very much. It seems to a friend on legend that the same protruding button broke the joystick out of the board during transportation, I had to disassemble and repair it. 2) Could build more than 8 megs of memory. 21st century in the yard, cheap memory, ssd drives and all that. As if hinting that it was necessary to buy 20. Well, I don't want a color screen.

Comment: I downloaded basecamp, uploaded points from the backup of the old etrex without any problems. Rumor has it that by removing the overview map of the world, you can somehow fill in a more or less detailed map of Russia. But I have not yet found the time to study this topic.

Advantages: eTrex10 is not a toy, but a very serious device. It catches satellites very well, long battery life, accurately records tracks and points, there is a trip computer. The compass shows the direction at a given point. There are different settings.

Disadvantages: About the joystick. Buy a branded case and problems go away. There is also a belt clip.

Comment: If you are a mushroom picker, fisherman or hunter, the eTrex10 is what you need, even if you have no idea about the area, you can always return to the starting point.

Advantages: Worked for 30 hours from old batteries.The track is accurately displayed on the computer in the "Google Earth" program, it never leaves the sidewalk. The compass starts working at its lowest speed, while keeping the navigator straight ahead. Shows direction and distance to waypoint, accurate to 3m as stated. In a dense forest in the rain, it works without problems, being in your pocket. The display is readable during the day even without backlighting, saving energy. There is a GPS + GLONASS mode. Accurate satellite clock.

Disadvantages: The company deliberately underestimated the amount of memory, which costs nothing. The joystick could have been made tighter.

Comment: Garmin is a monopolist in the market of tourist navigators, if you don't download large maps, then there is no alternative.

Advantages: A convenient device for hiking without a goal (mushrooms, hunting, sightseeing) with a return to the starting point. Glonass support, fast satellite search, even in the forest. Also suitable for preliminary planning of routes on a computer. Free software from Garmin is used. It allows you to plot a route using an osm-based map, then load it into the navigator and use route navigation on the terrain. Works for a long time from a set of batteries.

Disadvantages: The device menu leaves much to be desired in terms of intuition. With some points without instructions, you can't go broke at all.

Comment: I recommend buying a cover right away. Even though the device is shockproof and waterproof, there is no excessive protection. I use this navigator for hiking and cycling trips. For mounting on a bicycle, I recommend the standard mount.
