Opinions from the Panasonic RF-3500
Yandex.Market data
Advantages:
High sensitivity in all ranges. Great sound, clean, low end. Excellent ergonomics: the on / off button and power connector are located exactly where you need it. High quality workmanship (with the exception of some points, which is written below), inside 2 boards, made with high quality, the details are also of high quality. Everything is cultural, on connectors.
Disadvantages:
There is only one complaint - wobbly control knobs and volume knobs, there is a backlash, too large gaps in the seats. In principle, fixable, if hands are from where you need it (I just pulled a steel wire off the place where the tuning shaft axis snaps into place - there is the biggest backlash).
Comment:
Great receiver. The price bites a little, I would give 1500r maximum, it seems painfully delicate, although the assembly is of high quality. About headphone jack - not a marriage, really only one "ear" works - this is not a malfunction, but a feature of Panas. I had a pocket RF-P50, which has the same thing, for some reason they make an output for a mono headphone in Panasonic. Fixable, and very easy. About poor reception of the HF range - now all devices are equipped with switching power supplies, which greatly interfere with reception with their interference, and a computer is a completely simple noise generator. Disconnect everything: the TV, the computer with the monitor, the chargers - everything is plugged in, and then you can safely "catch" many stations on HF, even during the day the Chinese are caught calmly.

Advantages:
Good reception and acceptable sound are all you need from a radio.
Comment:
Classic model from Panasonic. Was purchased to replace a similar model, which ordered a long life after prolonged use. Feels like they began to put the speakers, which sound better than the performance of previous generations.

Advantages:
Very good FM reception outside the city (100 km. From St. Petersburg), without an additional antenna. Clear speaker sound - smooth, rich sound. Nice appearance.
Disadvantages:
I don’t know whether this is such a design feature, or whether they slipped me into a marriage - the tuning knob is kind of "loose", it seems to be on a spring, it staggers, and sometimes scratches the body. Unpleasant sensation. There is no scale illumination, as in the good old Soviet (and not only Soviet) radios. The headphone output, as I understand it, is monophonic - this is completely incomprehensible. There is no fine adjustment knob. The receiver is very sensitive (this is a plus!), But at short wavelengths you have to turn the tuning knob very carefully so as not to "jump" off the caught wave, there would be a fine tuning knob, it would be much more convenient.
Comment:
Despite all the flaws, I give it five stars.I needed a confident FM reception outside the city, without using additional. antennas. I got it 100%. The machine is worth the money.

Advantages:
Sensitivity, simplicity, high quality speaker. Technique "from the 90s" for centuries.
Disadvantages:
There is a 3.5mm jack for ONE earphone, not headphones, "loose" frequency control knob.
Comment:
Great receiver! Its main advantage is simplicity and great sensitivity where others are "blind". I bought it for my dacha (70 km from Kiev), after checking I'm happy as an elephant. I caught two favorite Kiev FM stations that other devices have not seen. I had read about cons before on the Internet, so I was ready for them. The price is justified!

Advantages:
Nice receiver. It catches the FM band with dignity - there are no problems with reception at 100 km from Moscow, even with the antenna folded down. The speaker is powerful.
Disadvantages:
Yes, there seems to be none, except that the case is relatively weak - it does not like falls.
Comment:
I bought one about 10 years ago for my grandmother. I listened to it almost every day, all these 10 years. I liked everything. I fell somehow - the handle broke off, well, not scary, but the plastic is correspondingly fragile. Recently dropped from a height of 2 meters, the receiver apparently fell unsuccessfully - at an angle, as a result, half of the mounts inside tore off and the antenna "fell off". Even on the FM band, I began to receive only a few stations, apparently with a particularly strong signal. I bought another one the other day. I will add that during use, my mother bought a Panasonic RF-2400EG-K - it seems like a similar model, only with 2 ranges instead of 4, and with 1.5 times smaller dimensions in thickness. The design is more flimsy - tuning tuners for frequency and volume in particular. But in the same place, 100 km from Moscow, my mother said that she catches worse than the RF-3500. For all that, in terms of the price-performance ratio (yes, and the quality, probably, too), of all that is now on the market, as actually 10 years ago, I have not found anything better. There are some semi-electronic Phillips with a wild weight and less reliable, respectively, or there are pocket versions with a deliberately weak speaker, well, as desktop models are not so convenient.

Advantages:
All-wave, which is rare enough now.
Disadvantages:
In modern terms, no.
Comment:
Those who held in their hands National Panasonic receivers (radio tape recorders) of 70-80 years of release, at first they will be disgusted with similar goods produced today. It seems that they have already done everything and even more to reduce the cost of production as much as possible. As for the operation of the device, there are no comments. The sensitivity is excellent, the sound is good and clear. I got it in case of war, when there is no Internet or television - we will learn about the state at the front with the help of old reliable radio waves ...
September 26, 2014, St. Petersburg
Advantages:
I bought it to listen to FM, I did not even include other bands. First of all (and this is the main thing!) - good sensitivity in comparison with the "younger brother" - RF-2400 (I have been plowing it for several years), then I compare it with it. The apartment has "dead zones", where the 2400th wheezes, this one takes it clean. Noticeably more low frequencies - the sound becomes richer. The antenna can be tilted in all directions. The control wheel buttons are more "sane".
Disadvantages:
In general, little things. The tone switch is "about nothing", in the lower position it cuts off all the high frequencies, it is impossible to listen, you must keep it in the upper position. No tuning LED (very good feature on the 2400). The batteries in the case are not tightly pressed by the lid (if shaken, they dangle). The power button during transportation runs the risk of being accidentally pressed - it protrudes on the top panel.
Comment:
Both receiver models are assembled in Indonesia and China. Naturally, I bought an Indonesian assembly - I had to look specifically. Overall, I am satisfied. Recommend.

Advantages:
Excellent FM sensitivity. Good sound. Build quality. Reliability.
Disadvantages:
There is no scale backlight when powered from the mains.
Comment:
I bought it in 2006. The receiver has been through a lot. Nature trips, apartment renovation (creepy dust) and swimming in the lake. After drying, it worked, began to wheeze. When replacing the speaker, I appreciated the quality of the filling and assembly - just super, almost like that of military equipment :). Reliable, loyal friend.

Advantages:
Nice to the touch and high quality case. Scale in seasoned gray-black tones with white lettering. At a distance of 25-30 km from Yekaterinburg, he catches FM on a folded antenna! High quality dynamics with deep and soft lows, very pleasant to the ear. In the position of the TONE - HIGN switch, this is especially noticeable.
Disadvantages:
I would add a scale backlight and it's a pity that they stopped broadcasting on the LW and MV bands. They saved when they were hundreds of kilometers away from radio stations: (but these pritenzii are not Panasonic.
Comment:
In the 90s there was a Panasonic radio tape recorder. Possessed high sensitivity and reliable capture of stations in the VHF range. So now I decided to take Panasonic again for the garden. I looked after the Panasonic RF-3500 model in the internet. And when I arrived at the store, the seller retargeted at the Panasonic RF-2400EG-K, like why pay more :))) I got carried away, and when I got home I was disappointed. It catches mostly powerful radio stations, and even then sometimes the sound is accompanied by a hiss. Maybe I got such a copy? I don't know ... I went straight away and changed the RF-2400EG-K to the RF-3500. When experienced in the garden - this is heaven and earth! Recommend.

Advantages:
1.Excellent sound. 2. Catching cleanly, a person passing by does not interfere. 3. Simple, convenient control. 4. Excellent plastic and components. 5. Ability to work from the mains and from batteries. 6.Catch the most popular radio stations.
Disadvantages:
There is no automatic search for radio stations.
Comment:
I bought it for 1700 rubles. somewhat expensive, but compared with Chinese counterparts and other receivers. In terms of sound (clarity and loudness) this one is the best that is on sale today.
