Advantages: Long foldable antenna, good sensitivity, reception indicator - thanks to it, you can accurately tune the frequency, excellent sound of the built-in speaker (Chinese cheap pocket ones often squeak and squeak disgustingly, right there is a good booming pleasant sound). Low power consumption, good batteries will last for a very long time. Inside, everything is done conscientiously: excellent quality soldering, high-quality components (at least not cheap Chinese bullshit).
Disadvantages: Almost all of the following disadvantages are easily fixed with a soldering iron and hands from the right place: 1. Raised volume level. just change the value of one of the resistors. 2. mono headphone output. Strike one track next to the socket and make a jumper. 3. Slightly cut low frequencies - change one of the capacitors to a higher nominal (let this somewhat limit the maximum volume from the speaker, but all frequencies will be present in the sound and you can normally listen in headphones) 4. Not the best selectivity: say, stations on adjacent frequencies will interrupt each other if you are near one of the towers (a strong signal will interrupt a weak one), although this is rare and, in principle, does not interfere, you can adjust the antenna for that matter, although you do not have to put forward the antenna at all in the city.
Comment: A solid receiver. By the way, someone was comparing it with Sony ... In the Panasonic RF-P50EG-S, the SONY CXA1619BM chip is used

Advantages: Small. Keeps the wave well. Great sound for its size.
Disadvantages: Didn't notice.
Comment: After reading reviews about "Panasonic RF-P50EG-S" and "Sony ICF-S22" I still did not understand which is better to buy, so I bought both. Sony is a little larger in size, in my opinion better in design, more stable in an upright position, a little longer antenna. When testing both receivers in operation, I found out for myself that under equal conditions, Panasonic catches and holds the wave better, the sound does not wheeze and is less distorted with increasing volume. I do not know, maybe this is inherent only in the specific copies I bought. Both companies are very famous and I would not want to offend either of them, but that's why he should write a review objectively.

Advantages: Convenient design and the antenna in place and all the wheels. The cleanest, pleasant, loud and not squeaky sound. Although analog, it is adjusted very precisely and easily, as if the wheel itself twists to the desired position. Very light. The quality of reception is relatively high, selectivity and noise immunity too. Power consumption is only 8 mA, when tuned to the frequency - 11 mA? and with sound only 15 mA. A very relevant and correct indicator for fine tuning.

Advantages: Convenient, economical, reliable. Highest sensitivity of any small receiver I've seen. Good sound.
Disadvantages: There are only two of them. Like many kids, the gear ratio of the tuning wheel is very small. I haven’t disassembled it yet, but it looks like the capacitor is spinning right away. If the Japanese didn’t save 10 cents on a pair of gears, this would be an ideal receiver. The selectivity is sometimes not very: it happens. , two stations are heard at once (but this is rare).
Comment: ICF-18 and the like, of course they catch much better, but they also have a much larger size. I think the best small receiver for this price.

Advantages: It keeps the wave very cool. With a relatively small scale, it does not pass any radio stations and does not mix them in between. The battery lasts a long time. Very nice recognizable design)
Disadvantages: Good old wheel tuning. Display buttons would be more convenient of course.
Comment: A wonderful gift for tourists. "Digital", of course, is more convenient, but with such a quality of signal reception, this is a different price.

Advantages: compact, convenient, good sensitivity and selectivity, very low battery consumption, normal sound (for devices of this type), loud, no distortion at 50% volume (like Sony ICF-S22)
Disadvantages: This receiver has been on the market for a long time and what is being done today is different from what it was before. Yes, the body has become flimsy (it is connected on grooves, without screws), however, this is not fatal, but before the strength was different, this is why attention is drawn to this in the reviews. The front and back of the case is perfect, but on the sides there are traces of the reduction in price of the 21st century, in terms of plastic molding. Traditionally, a single-channel mono headphone output (for Sony and Panasonic), it was possible to make a 2-channel, the Chinese have been doing this for a long time, and only one headphone (channel) sounds like this if you connect ordinary stereo headphones. Sorry no VHF. The fact that the plastic is dyed is the same for everyone for a long time, we do not consider this a disadvantage, with careful handling of the paint on the case, everything is fine. No antenna clip to the body
Comment: it is often compared to the Sony ICF-S22. Sony looks more strict in my opinion, its body is more durable and more stable when installed vertically (also painted). Sony is a complete analogue, but has a drawback, distortions begin at a volume of about 50%, and this made me abandon it and choose this Panasonic, which does not have such a problem. Panasonic is more compact. Perhaps he has better selectivity. Sony has a convenient hinged cover for batteries, Panasonic has a standard one, removable. What is called a power indicator is a mechanical indicator on the volume wheel, which becomes visible when you turn it, when turned on, it is practically invisible, but on the other hand you can see that you forgot to turn off the receiver, on occasion. flimsy, perhaps the best in its class that can be found on the market today, the old model. It's a pity there is no VHF there.

Advantages: Good radio reception and "holding of the caught" station - the frequency "does not float". Sound acceptable for this kind of devices. Compact size. Using AA batteries is also an advantage. Simplicity of execution.
Disadvantages: For this money, they are probably not there - good old Panasonic (Indonesian assembly).
Comment: I was looking for a model up to 1000r with a digital tuner, to help the old Hyundai. After unsuccessful experiments with devices such as Rhythmix-Supra, I decided that good radio reception is still preferable for me, but in digital receivers of this form factor this is a rarity. In Panasonic there is no digital tuner, no memory of stations, no clock, no timer, but it performs its main function - "catching the wave" at 100. If you are not too lazy to "turn the wheel", then you will not find the best model in this price category. As mentioned in previous reviews, a similar model from Sony, made on the same element base and costing an average of 200r less, accepts frequencies worse and distorts the sound at high volume levels (I don't know why).

Advantages: I brought a radio tape recorder to the dacha sony does not catch anything except Dynamite fm. this kid catches 5-6 stations. works on accumulators for a long time. the problem is 47 km. from St. Petersburg in the radar zone.
Disadvantages: for 500 rubles.
Comment: great model for vacationers

Advantages: Perfectly catches the FM range. I can't reach the antenna at all 7 km from the Moscow Ring Road. It's about the size of a pack of cigarettes, and the speaker is pretty loud.
Disadvantages: No
Comment: It copes with its function of the radio receiver one hundred percent. The sensitivity is excellent.
