Comment: I took it only because of DeX. It's been a long time since DeX was a baby rattle. I have been working in DeX / Linux on DeX for two weeks now (external monitor + bt keyboard, mouse) - the work is quite stable, after a little breakdown and getting used to, you begin to understand that the advantages of android (zero timegap upon waking, more native touch interface than Windows, native push notifications, clients of social networks, mobile chrome - does not eat up the battery and quickly falls asleep) make the device more flexible than similar on Windows (surface go, for example) - especially on the road. To sum up, s4 tab was able to replace the ultrabook for me personally.

Flash for the camera - you can shoot papers in the shade. Assembly, tactile pleasures - everything is on top. A perfect compromise between screen size and weight, the shoulder does not pull. The elongated screen turned out to be no worse than 4k3, there are pluses for working with documents: in a portrait you can still type on the weight with your thumbs like 8 inches, with an open on-screen keyboard there is a lot of space for a document, you can open two applications one above the other, and they look normal. And in the landscape position you have half an A4 page at a scale of 1: 1, writing and drawing with a stylus is enough.

Disadvantages: The screen is controversial, depending on the angle of inclination, the temperature changes, even with a slight deviation it becomes colder blue, and since the screen is elongated in portrait mode, and we hold or lie at an angle usually, it is noticeable that the screen is warmer at the bottom than at the top. I did not like the keyboard cover at all - it does not expand the possibilities of the cover-book, but kills the desire to use the stylus and tablet as a tablet. It is not convenient to hold on weight as a tablet, the keyboard sticks out because of the long spine, it is unpleasant to touch the buttons on the back, writing with the stylus "lying on the table" is worse because of the thickness, there is no mode with a slight tilt, only an undocumented funny, keyboard up. And also opening / closing it without installing the keyboard does not animate or turn off the screen.It seems that the developers thought only about the laptop mode, but typing on a tiny keyboard and poking with a stylus at the screen instead of a mouse or carrying a mouse with you is so-so entertainment only if you are an astronaut and they told you not a single gram or centimeter more. The buttons are nice though. Dexp mode is not bad with a human set of peripherals, it can help out in space. Excellent assembly, the device is monolithic, does not creak, does not play. Also, the tablet is very pleasant to hold in hands thanks to the glass back (I am a supporter of glass, not aluminum). 5. Very good stereo sound, for watching Youtube, movies, TV shows, fits perfectly, I never listen at more than 70-80% volume. 6. High-speed performance, speed of work, complete absence of lags, freezes. Samsung Experience is a very thoughtful and super user-friendly shell. 7. The battery life is excellent. A few days is easy, about 10-11 hours of screen in normal use. I recently took the tablet on a five-hour flight, started using it from the airport, then watched movies all the time, before turning off the battery showed 64%. 8. The pen is very convenient to use, but in my case, not for notes, but for selecting text, cutting out the necessary screenshots and further saving them or sending them to friends on social networks / messengers. 9. An unpleasant moment with a button on the stylus, but I seem to have got used to it. I don't play powerful toys, I can't say anything here. The print is not enough, I want to quickly unlock with one touch, but here there is no such possibility, first press the on button and then aim your cabbage soup at the camera, it's easier to enter a pin. Any unnecessary software constantly offered to update itself, then use it, I had to get confused to turn off all this stuff)) The sound is solid, but nothing more.

Advantages: Working with the stylus and the stylus itself in the first place. It is very convenient to write on the off screen (I had the same opportunity in the Note, but it was inconvenient there - both the stylus and the screen are small, but here you write like a pen in a large notepad. And the text is recognized quite well) Good battery life - a very tenacious battery I charge every day. A keyboard cover, now there is no need to carry a computer with you, an excellent keyboard, the size is smaller than the standard one, of course, and there is no backlight, but still typing is much more convenient than poking on the screen.

Disadvantages: DeX desktop mode is buggy, I didn't like it. Not all programs work correctly, there are some problems with language switching.To be fair, Samsung warns that this is a beta version of the program. A good stylus, an excellent screen, drawing and handwriting capabilities The most important option for me was the keyboard included (by pre-order - for free), because the tablet was taken to replace a laptop as a light and advanced notebook with the ability to edit simple office documents and I can also note that the guys from Samsung have improved the software well in terms of handwriting input and recognition - it is convenient to write text with a stylus and then recognize it. I began to actively use handwriting input. Conclusion: the tablet fits perfectly into the next use case: a device that is always with you and allows you to take business notes / notes, edit text in a Word or a powerpoint presentation, work with mail. Well, watch movies, search for something on the Internet.

It is not clear why they made the camera and sensors on the short side of the tablet. When working with it, in most cases it is more convenient to use it in landscape orientation. Then the camera would be in front of the user. I liked the Dex mode and the multitasking windows. It is convenient to work with a mouse and keyboard via Bluetooth as with a small laptop. The tablet easily pulls SSD drives and 2.5 Tb drives from WD. It is upsetting that for half a year there are no OS updates, they don't even release security updates. Although they regularly come to Samsung Note 8 once a month.

Recently I updated to 9 android, and I didn’t wait, since I bought it, it was updated only once. It's cool that you can even use it as a large smartphone, if necessary, make calls, write SMS, etc. especially since the advent of wireless headphones, it has become quite convenient. I called once when I forgot to charge my smartphone, and it passed out unexpectedly. There is unlocking in the face and retina, but in life it is faster to dial a pin, because it works slowly, you need to look at the top of the tablet, they scan you for a long time and in detail, make a decision, and then decide whether you are or not.
