Advantages:
Excellent glass for the money. The first fix in the Sony E system with aperture ratio of 1.4. Fast AF on cameras with phase detection. An excellent all-round glass for everyday use, here you have portraits, so you can take pictures indoors without a flash. Suitable for video as well. Excellent drawing.

In general, it has no analogues, since Sonevsky 35 1.8 is still inferior in color and detail, and also lathers on the open one, and accordingly 1.8 is not working, it will be necessary to cover the diaphragm for greater detail. If you have a camera series 5100, 6000 and higher, I advise you to take it. you won't find better. Advantages:
Fast, sharp, fast! For this money, there are no competitors with autofocus! Manual lenses are a separate topic, I don't quite understand the point of taking a camera with one of the best autofocus and manual optics ..
Disadvantages:
1. No stabilizer, especially important for video. 2. The chatter of the autofocus motor falls on the video recording in a quiet room, judging by the forums, this is not a marriage, but a feature.

I took it as a replacement for the kit 16-50mm sel1650 for the Sony A6000. The focal 30mm turned out to be the most versatile! It makes no sense to write about shooting in simple conditions with good light, everything is remarkable! But in difficult, with a whale in a dark room, it is almost useless to shoot dynamic moments without a flash, and even more so! We have to set ISO 3200-6400, and the noise is already clearly visible. With Sigma in the same conditions and settings (shutter speeds 1 \ 60-1 \ 125, due to the open aperture 1.4-2.0 there is a gain in sensitivity of 2-4 stops). Flash of course solves these problems, if it is available and applicable in specific conditions. In video, again in a dark room or in the evening outdoors, due to the open aperture, you can shoot without problems! The depth of field even at 1.4 is sufficient! One problem is the noise of the autofocus motor, a sort of "locust" chatter, but you can hear it only in a quiet room. Motor activity and noise can be slightly reduced by lowering the "autofocus speed" in the camera settings.

I use it for several days. I am delighted! Compared to a whale, 16-50 photos from this lens are pleasing to the eye. For such a price and with such characteristics, it is better not to find for the Sony E. I advise!

For a long time I chose a lens in this category for my Sony a6000 camera, compared the characteristics, parameters, prices, reviews and reviews, and in the end I chose the Sigma AF 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary. The lens is simply wonderful, the main thing is that the image obtained by this lens is beyond praise, which in the end makes you think - do I really need my full-frame camera ... If the optics for the Sony E mount were in sufficient range and at an affordable price, then such a question of abandoning a full-frame camera would be full-length.

The price in Russia, because of the exchange rate, is 23 thousand, although before the crisis it would have cost 9-10 thousand. The lack of a stub, but for this price I would be pleasantly surprised by the STEADY SHOT in it.

I bought this glass as a lens for everyday shooting. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the lens assembly, compared to the 2011-12 series, this parameter has noticeably improved, in that case, when buying, as soon as you get there, there may be a normal lens, it can get caught with a defect (the aperture blade mechanism wedges tightly), nothing dangles here, the diaphragm opens silently. A sharp picture already at aperture of 2-2.8, focuses on the NEX-6 quite quickly at this aperture, 1.4-1.6 - crawls if you try to focus on the range, with 1.8 it focuses on everything. Picture quality is unrivaled at this focal length. SEL 30M35 from SONY loses much (noise, aperture), SIGMA 30 mm / 2.8 (cardboard image). RAW stretches well, there is a profile in Lightroom. For this price (in the world) excellent glass. At first glance, SIGMA has taken a big step up from the generation for the NEX-5. Hopefully it won't change.

I'm making a video. One of my favorite lenses, the picture is simply gorgeous. The build quality and materials are beyond praise. Comfortable focal length, golden mean - due to its versatility, it is most often wound on the camera. Autofocus generally works well, in the vast majority of cases everything is in order, but sometimes it "smears", which is critical at a small depth of field. Sometimes valuable shots are fucked up. There are no such jambs on Sonevskaya 20mm 2.8. You can also hear the noise of the motors in the video very well, it is not always convenient to carry an external microphone with you. I didn't like how manual focusing was implemented - the mechanism was unresponsive and inconvenient.However, the advantages of the lens more than cover all the minor disadvantages, and I think that it is worth the money. I use the stub, autofocus misses almost 50% of the time. It is extremely inconvenient to turn it manually. The focus ring is not smooth. There is no stabilization, but this is the norm for such relatively small money for glass.
