Advantages:
Aperture ratio. Price (for Sony and Sony / Zeiss lenses). Weight. The size. Reliable construct in a metal case. Declared protection against moisture and dust (not 100%). Focus hold button (adjustable) and AF switch on body. 9 aperture blades. Lens hood included. The 67mm filter is the running size. Excellent color and geometry rendering. Ringing sharpness from open aperture. Interesting bokeh. Fast and quiet focusing.
Disadvantages:
As is often the case, the cylindrical lens hood completely covers the focusing ring when reversed. The front lens is close to the edge, so don't ignore the wearing of a quality filter protector. The lack of a cover (although I rarely use them myself). Well, the price tag could be at least a little lower.
Comment:
The third lens in my photoset is A7M2. Before him 55mm Sony / Zeiss and 35mm Sigma (new, without adapter) were already in stock. From the first shots it has to itself. Looks harmoniously on the carcass, with excellent weight distribution. Convenient. It behaves very well in a lack of lighting, sometimes it seems that it is lighter than stated. Produces a three-dimensional picture with excellent colors (on this carcass), slightly twists the background, although not at all like Helios, for example G-40-2. It tolerates backlight well. As you can see from the review, it has practically no critical drawbacks, although it does not pretend to be absolute perfection. It suits me completely. I recommend this product with pleasure!

Advantages:
Surprisingly fast autofocus. Cutting. Contrasting.
Disadvantages:
Poorly holds backlight, a hood saves a little. But in comparison with Nikon's, the same money is much better.

Advantages:
There are many advantages, aperture, accuracy and speed of focus, sharp with an open one, bokeh slightly twists. (for me this is a plus) Fits well in the hand. It makes no sense to cover the aperture to get a sharper image - sharp from an open aperture.
Disadvantages:
The front lens is the weak link in the lens, very close to heaven, you can get scratched! (I put in a high-quality filter and forgot.) The price is damn expensive.

Advantages:
Good sharpness, accurate and very fast autofocus. I was very pleased with the button on the side of the lens - focus lock.
Disadvantages:
For my a5100 and a6500 are large.
Comment:
I use it for filming a child in indoor gyms. On a camera with an APS-C sensor, this lens has the equivalent of FR = 127mm - such a telephoto lens, which is why I chose it. The 24M matrix is enough for further crop and enlargement of the required area. The lens resolves this matrix well. Since I always use tracking autofocus, the autofocus lock button is very helpful when shooting scenes. In terms of picture quality and autofocus speed, this lens is the favorite, and then the Sigma 30 / f1.4.

Advantages:
The center is sharp starting from hole 1.8, the edges are at a decent level. At the hole 2.8 is sharp across the landscape field. There is no distortion at all. Quite fast and quiet autofocus. Nice bokeh. Made of metal (excellent tactile feel). Weight. Hood included. Mega useful programmable focus button. Price-performance ratio (by the standards of Sony glasses).
Disadvantages:
There is a vignette, but this is a very small minus, it can be easily corrected if desired. On the borders of contrasting details, chromite, you can see a purple edging, in general it is not critical at all and is also corrected by profiles. Perhaps the only drawback is the work in the backlight, it does not feel very confident, if the sun is nearby it is better to use a hood or try other options with the location of the picture.
Comment:
I use it for half a year on a Sony A7R2 mirrorless camera (42MP). I mainly use old manual glasses from the 80s. The only modern glass in the park, I bought it purely because of autofocus to photograph my little son. At first I wanted to buy Sonkovsky 50 at ff, but he turned out to have poor autofocus. Excellent glass for the price and quality for a full frame within Sony glasses, one of the most affordable. I highly recommend it.

The lens is gorgeous, I used it for several months, I sold it. I needed money, but if there are no problems with money then take it, you will not regret it!

SEL85F18 Excellent lens. I didn’t regret for a minute that I had chosen him. The lack of technical knowledge does not allow to describe technical issues. The manual focus with the amazing zoom function was inspiring!

Advantages:
Very good glass! Much better in picture than for example Kenon 85 1.8 Sharp open, with accurate autofocus. With a plastic picture. with nice colors. It also perfectly conveys volume.
Disadvantages:
The size of the A7S, of course, I wanted to be smaller, but it's already 85 mm, so it's normal. As usual, you want a lower price, but here we understand that the dollar is not the same ...

SEL85F18 Photo quality is quite impressive. Focus and detail at the level. But he loves light. Doesn't like the dark.

Probably the best lens in terms of price-to-picture ratio.
Disadvantages:
without a hood, flares occur, but this is not critical.
Comment:
I recently use it in tandem with the a7II. I am satisfied with the lens. I like the picture very much.
