Advantages:
Sharp, especially compared to the Canon 24-105 f4 Very pleasant focusing ring movement Moisture-dustproof
Disadvantages:
The optical stabilizer is much worse than that of Canon 24-105 f4, it relieves only of small shaking Small vignette at a wide angle Stiff movement of the trunk (it is impossible to make smooth zoom in video) Too heavy compared to the A7s2 camera High price
Comment:
I use it for video shooting with the A7s2, personally I do not have enough interesting and beautiful glare from the sun or other light sources, but for someone this is a plus. The main disadvantage for me is a very weak optical image stabilizer, it seems to me that it is not much better than a matrix one. Shooting handheld, the image with the matrix stub and the CZ 55mm f1.8 lens stabilizes better than at the same focal length with the 24-105 with the optical stub, and it's a shame for the money!

Advantages:
Sharp throughout the entire range, smart (very smart in comparison with mirror counterparts), well tailored, pleasant color
Disadvantages:
One drawback, and it is, as always, the price.
Comment:
I shot this lens for a week. I took it to reportage (Cabinet meeting), took it to the studio (shooting portraits with artificial and natural light) - he is good everywhere. If 24-105 is your main range on a mirror system and you switch to Sony's UPC, it's worth to fork out. If you do not need such a universal zoom so often, sigma ms-11 and kenon 24-105 will help you out in most cases (on the second and third versions of the A7 - I'm talking about them). By sabzh - faster than Tamron 28-75, with A7-3 it allows a lot due to the low-noise matrix, does not lather .. in a word - the lens is very even. Below there are internal cameras with Sony a7-3 + subject, in the last photo BB-cloudy, that's why such a warm shade.

Advantages:
Sharpness starting from the widest aperture, fast and silent autofocus drive, good color, compact enough and not too heavy for a "full frame", the presence of "physical" focus mode switches, stabilizer and function button, special. front lens coating to keep dust out, hood and case included
Disadvantages:
High price, not very impressive stabilization when shooting movies.
Comment:
A versatile reportage zoom lens suitable for most photographic tasks. Good portraits come out on the long focus. Drawing and color are typical for new Sonev's zooms: correct, but not particularly artistic. Boke is calm, without frills. The highest detail already from the widest aperture, quietly resolves the 42 MP matrix. Fast, really quiet. Good for both photos and videos, the focus does not "breathe". The stabilization is good enough, though not impressive. Possibly the most versatile Sony FE mount lens.

Advantages:
Fast and quiet focusing, smooth manual focusing ring Very sharp picture, also at the edge of the frame Dust and water resistant body Built-in optical image stabilization Programmable button on the body
Disadvantages:
Small distortion at a wide angle of shooting I did not find any categorical flaws
Comment:
The lens was purchased to replace Sony E 18-105 f / 4, primarily for video shooting. As many note in the reviews, first of all I noticed a rather tight ring for changing the focal length, at first it interfered with shooting, it was not possible to smoothly change the zoom. About a month later, the ring was developed and the problem went away by itself. I also want to note the smoothness of the manual focus ring, it is very convenient to use. The lens fully justified its purchase, the picture is sharp and the focusing is fast. Perfect for reportage photography and video shooting, thanks to its versatile focal length and constant aperture. Previously, I had eye focusing on the programmable button, now I have a choice of focusing mode, it's convenient to use. Many people complain about the size, weight and price of the lens, but I find them perfectly adequate for the new versatile full-frame constant aperture lens.

Advantages:
Versatility, weight, quality, constant aperture ratio, stabilization, price.
Disadvantages:
Yes, the picture is not a masterpiece and artistic. Yes, there is a slight distortion at wide angles, but less than at the top-end 24-70 2.8 G, and the aperture is only 4.
Comment:
I give five stars in all respects based on consumer properties, price and quality. I recommend it as the first lens. I use it with Sony A7iii, it worked harmoniously. Especially for those who often use the video gorgeous option. Modern Sonya do not make noise at high ISO, so the lens aperture is not a hindrance in dark rooms when shooting events.

Advantages:
Sharp, no chromaticity. Fast autofocus, trunk does not fall out when worn down. The dimensions are smaller in comparison with the Canon and the adapter + it feels a bit lighter. Tactilely more pleasant than the canon - the same rubber rings from the canon are straight rubber, but here it is like a soft touch (such as velvet or something), the switches on the canon on the object even had to be flipped with nails so tight, here the norms are on / off with a fingertip. Convenient additional button (You can hang eye autofocus on it). Diaphragm 4 is fully operational.
Disadvantages:
The zoom wheel turns in the opposite direction than the Canon 24-105L. Quite elastic, and therefore a smooth collision with video is difficult. The manual autofocus ring is VERY VERY sensitive, VERY straight, but soft and smooth. The vignette is pretty decent (easy to edit in LR) on all FRs. And of course the price is not at all friendly). On the other hand, the new canon of the 2nd series also costs 70t.r. There is nothing new here - Sony's prices are higher than the market - it's time to put up with it :) There is also a small drawback - when shooting through an IR filter on a FR 24-40mm, there is a hot spot in the center of the frame, a small and uneven illumination of the photo across the frame, then on FR everything is more or less on IR photo. (here the old canon behaves better.)
Comment:
After the Canon 24-105L (first version) with an adapter, this object is simply gorgeous. (A7R III) In the landscape photo, where the canon has porridge (small and subtle details in the background) Sony draws everything - you can say pixel by pixel. Also, the edges of the frame are very good, with the slightest difference from the center. When Canon has just porridge here and everything is blurry and twisted. Stab from canon, I would not say that it is very different (in video mode). But in conjunction with a matrix one, you can shoot at 105mm at shutter speeds of 1/10 and 1/5 easily, a good photo will be (one of 5 :). Very decent glass.

SEL24105G Hello everyone! I have been waiting for such optics from Sony for a long time! This despite the fact that I have a lens with such a focal length from another manufacturer. And I only use a professional line of optics. I shoot mostly reportage and consider 24-105 to be the best focal length for this genre. When working with such a lens, there is practically no need to change it. For example, I shot a sailing regatta in September (with a 24-105 lens from another manufacturer). I also had 70-200 and 12-24 with me. Nevertheless, about 97% of the shots were shot with the 24-105 lens. I have a good long-term experience of working with such optics of a professional line of different well-known manufacturers, but none of them has shown such focusing accuracy and such sharpness in real "combat" conditions. Below I brought a few photos from a standard corporate event reportage. Everything is shot on a Sony SEL24105G at ISO 3200-6400. Out of about 1,500 photos fell out of focus about 15-20. But these are mostly my mistakes. And this lens frankly saved some of my mistakes! Of course combined with a great camera. Today, in over 15 years of photography, I believe I am the owner of the best optics in the 24-105 range. I have never had such a level of results as given by Sony SEL24105G. However, in fairness, I must say that the highest level of image quality provided by the Sony SEL24105G still does not double this level of quality of third-party optics. And the price is exactly and exactly 2 times.

The SEL24105G lens is really excellent, sharp across the entire field of the frame, but there is one drawback - vignetting at 24 mm at full aperture. strange that the kit lens 28-70 costing a penny is devoid of this drawback. focusing is not so simple .... try to photograph a small bird or squirrel if they are against the background of trees or bushes ... only manual focus. body 7 m II. maybe with a 9 it works as it should.
