Advantages:
It works quietly, quickly, does not heat up, does not ask for food. Connects instantly (Win10).
Disadvantages:
I'm not used to crunching (typical for all HDDs). Each time it crunches differently, which raises doubts about its durability) * at the level of paranoia *
Comment:
I treat it with care, knowing the fragility of the external disks: I store them in a pimpled shipping bag that came from the factory. It works stably. Usage - 3 months and 60% of the place.

Advantages:
1) body - matte hard plastic, will not hold together, not scratched. Nice design. The disc itself is well fixed inside, there are vibration / shock absorbing inserts. 2) a good bundled cord and a connector on the disk itself, nothing dangles. 3) excellent working read / write speeds. On my laptop 120-150 mb / sec. 4) the diode on the case lights up white if the connection is via USB 2.0 and blue if it is via USB 3.0
Disadvantages:
1) it happens that it makes noise during recording, but not critical. 2) inside is a disk with a soldered USB connector, not SATA. Those. you cannot remove this disk from the case and insert it into your computer.
Comment:
Cheap and cheerful. If you need a simple and high-quality disc, then take it) I have been using it for about six months, there have been no problems yet.

I chose the cheapest model as there is no big difference between them. The disc looks good. Speed via USB 3.0 - up to 108 Mb / s, via USB 2.0 - up to 32 Mb / s. Rubber feet prevent the disc from sliding and dampen vibrations. The disk is very quiet. The warranty is 2 years, which is very handy.

Advantages:
The purchase is new, just started testing. I bought it after reading user reviews. I liked the price (3600r), it doesn’t make noise until it clicks, as they wrote in the comments. The color is really white, but this is not critical.

I have been using WD May Passport 1GB since 1913, it contains family photos, films, cartoons clips. It works constantly, as it is "stuck" in the TV and I turn it off periodically. This one was bought to save family albums and music - there is no place on the computer and on WD anymore). Copied 77.3GB photos and videos from an external WD to this disk: Total Commander (x64) v9.0, time 1:15, average speed 17-21MB / sec, RAM usage - 50%, source 75-85%, this disk 70-80% (part of the time - 15 minutes was in the net through Chrome, the speed dropped, because RAM - 2 GB to 15MB / sec. Advantages:
Model HDTP210EK3AA (MQ01UBD100). Quiet, cold. The light on it switches correctly (white - USB 2, blue - USB 3). Read / Write USB 2 and 3 are roughly regulatory.,
Disadvantages:
Purchased 05/23/17, died 11/10/17. It worked for less than half a year, the total number of launches is about a hundred, did not drop or even shake. In general, 35 rubles for each start. The screw is alive, the file system crashed strangely. It took about a week to recover according to the total time, files were restored for two days. Now it works with a bang, if you are careful. Conclusion: storage is fairly reliable, but sensitive to out of band management failures.

I use an external hard drive as a storage for books and magazines, I connected it only a few times to my computer. For a short period of use, the external one has proven itself well, it is determined on computers once or twice. The only drawback when connecting to one of the computers when connected via the front USB port is that there is not enough power, you can hear that the drive is trying to take off, but no more. The problem was solved by connecting to a USB port on the back of the system.
