Works great for metal. The profile pipe 80x80x4 was not a problem for my specimen. It cuts quickly and there are really few sparks. It is very convenient that there is a removable tray for receiving chips. In general, I am satisfied - for garage (or suburban) affairs, it is the most. Only a small moment was noticed: at that moment when you clamp the part, the body of the stand itself plays a little, almost imperceptibly. But from this it is rather difficult to achieve the ideal right angle of the cut - it can deviate by a degree or one and a half. But it works out its money perfectly - I think that this is a great alternative to models with abrasive discs.

Comment:
Sawing a pipe with a wall of 3-4 mm is enough for 150-220 cuts. Conclusion: if you are sawing thin-walled profiles, the native disk will last for a long time, if something serious, you will still need to buy disks. But not makita (the price is charged) - smt, bosh, karnash.

Does not spark while the disc is new. 5 years will be enough for sure, if you do not saw every day.
Disadvantages:
Heavy. It is more convenient to measure the workpiece to the right side, and not to the left, as usual. You have to flip the roulette)

An excellent replacement for abrasives, I agree. The original disc costs like half a saw, but there is a replacement - Freud, it costs about 3-4 thousand rubles.

My first metal saw with a metal blade, so there is nothing to compare with. Before buying, I watched a bunch of videos with various saws, I even thought to save money and take a cheaper saw with a corundum disc, but after seeing the quality of the cut from the Makitov carbide disc I decided to take this model. On the first day, I made about a hundred saws of the 40th corner and about 30 saws of the 40th pipe. And the disk, at least that! There are very few sparks! In general, I am very pleased with the purchase !!!
