Nikon Aculon A211 10x50

Advantages: The build quality and materials are excellent. Nice to hold in your hands, everything is in place. It's a pleasure to use. And the picture quality is definitely excellent.

Disadvantages: The eyepiece lids are somehow flimsy, they strive to fall and get lost. In nature, rubberized surfaces are covered with dust, which is not easy to wipe off.

Comment: The binoculars are large, which means they are not very portable. It is not very convenient to take it with you just in case. But for this it is not intended. Otherwise a great thing. Extremely happy with the purchase.

Advantages: For such a picture (during the day and at dusk), which I saw through these binoculars in comparison with Olympus, Pentaxes and our binoculars, which are approximately in the same price range, I forgave him all the shortcomings, which abound. To the pluses I will add super ergonomics, in the hands it lies like a glove and very pleasant to the touch body. Nice belt.

Disadvantages: I will join the previous reviews for the disadvantages. 1. Cover - without a belt. Structurally, the binoculars strap is both a strap and for a case, but taking out the binoculars, the case will have to be put somewhere - it's inconvenient. In principle, it can be solved, you will have to be a seamstress-minder  2. The body is plastic, requires more careful handling. Marked rubber on the body. 3. Covers, their fastening after removal on the belt - disgusting !!!! Probably, it will be necessary to modify: \ 4. I did not have an L adapter in the kit, there is no L adapter in the list of accessories for this model of binoculars. 5. Cloth - missing.

Comment: After reading and watching the reports, I went to buy my first binoculars (although it is the first, I have been working with optics for a long time - a photographer). Initially, I wanted to take binoculars with a magnification of 8x because of the shake, I looked at Olympus 8-16x40 Zoom DPS I and Nikon Aculon A211 8x42 (the magnification is not enough for me and went to the 10x50 test - Olympus, Pentax, Nikon and ours) Subjective - Nikon Aculon A211 10x50 won in my tests. The picture is sooo good. The colors are juicy, the picture is airy, sharp both during the day and at dusk, the moon is excellent, there is no vignetting, there is practically no chromatism. Zeiss is better, but it's a different price point. As already mentioned, 10x is the golden mean. I bet 4 for the complete set and execution. I recommend buying.

Advantages: Sharp, grasping, light, low chromaticity, vignetting (darkening at the edge of the image) is practically absent. Nice volumetric picture. Very good at dusk !!! Price!

Disadvantages: Lens and eyepiece covers (awkward, poorly thought out), no bag, no L adapter included, no cloth included.

Comment: I got great pleasure from the purchase, a light, even, three-dimensional picture. All imaginary shortcomings are easily compensated by advantages! On airplanes flying high in the sky, on those that leave a white inverse trail and seem simply gray to the naked eye, it is easy to distinguish the branded coloring (in fact, they are very colorful). The binoculars showed themselves very well at dusk, when you look through them, the picture seems brighter than without it. Evaluated the optics from the point of view of an experienced photographer, for this money there can be no complaints about glasses! Do not chase the magnification factor, as it entails (other things being equal) a decrease in the exit pupil, and therefore a darker picture. Of course, this is not noticeable during the day, but in the evening it is awesome! And then on optics with a magnification of more than 10X, hand shake becomes a very significant drawback, unless you are an experienced biathlete or something like that =) In general, 10x is enough for most tasks, believe me! At 10x, large craters are visible on the moon, and even neighbors from the house opposite and even more so (in full view). Who can not decide 10x50 12x50 16x50 or zoom take 10k you will not go wrong.

Advantages: All binoculars.

Disadvantages: Binocular covers, bag ..

Comment: After holding it in your hands, you will look around, except as "Cool !!!" and "Super !!!" There is really nothing more to say. The picture is clearer and more colorful than you just look with your eyes. In the hands it sits like a glove, a very tenacious coating. In the twilight and at night, everything is visible in it brighter than with the naked eye. 10 times - the golden mean. From the hands the image does not tremble and at the same time brings it very well. The adjustments are convenient. I am very pleased with the purchase.

Advantages: There are a few aberrations, a contrasting, sharp image, light, lies well in the hands, it seems - a solid assembly.

Disadvantages: Very soft and "sticky" rubber finish - clings to everything and "attracts" dust. Difficult to use with glasses.

Comment: Compared with the twice more expensive Nikon Prostaff 5 10x50, the difference is in size, weight and price. The quality of the image in terms of sharpness, contrast and other things did not notice that it was different. But the chromatic aberration of the Aculon A211 10x50 is almost negligible, in comparison with the more expensive Nikon Prostaff 5 10x50. The only thing is that the Nikon Prostaff 5 10x50 has a very large eye relief, so it is easy (with the eyecups not extended) to use with glasses, while in the A211 it is better not to twist the eyecups at all - the field of view narrows and the image starts to "dance" - the same will happen if in glasses to watch. All in all, excellent and inexpensive binoculars. Unless the multiplicity is already too large to look without emphasis, but this is understandable. I have no complaints about the quality of the picture)))

Advantages: Received the binoculars on July 20, 2018. All its advantages have already been described.

Disadvantages: I will not write about the covers. The eyepiece caps hang tight to the strap, and the lens caps can be attached separately by tying the narrow part of the lens with black cord and attaching the caps to it. The lid cut can be closed with a cambric. The unit, if desired, soldered in plastic, will be like a factory one. But with a strap for a cover - it's joke! I will describe it in the comments below.

Comment: You guys are heavily Americanized. Free thinking no longer exists. Attach the strap to the binoculars, place the binoculars in the case bag and close it with Velcro, leaving the strap outside and passing through the back of the bag lid.You hang it on your neck, shoulder, etc. The bag, although strong, is lightweight. It will not fall off and will be held by the Velcro, and the binoculars are actually on the strap. Maybe this is not my know-how, maybe it was conceived by the practical Japanese and is no longer described as understandable.

Advantages: An excellent picture both during the day and at dusk, ergonomics worthy of a well-known brand, a pleasant rubberized case, a comfortable belt. What other advantages can be highlighted when there are not so many functions and distinctive features of binoculars in principle? Just when you pick it up, you don't want to let go)

Disadvantages: I did not understand why the caps are so hayut here, everything is conveniently hung on a belt, does not fall off anywhere, does not interfere with anything. Maybe not all the instructions have looked? everything is drawn there, what and where to wear. I only agree with the absence of a shoulder strap on the bag, but it is hung on the belt as planned. and in general, do you need it with you when using it - dangle on your shoulder while you look, and then hide it in your bag every time?

Comment: As a result: I decided to buy the fix after the change in the store had shaken it. the aperture also played against the variable, and the fact that more than 10x on the hands is really difficult to watch, and 10x is enough for domestic / tourist use. Well, I'm glad that I was not embarrassed by those shortcomings that are described in some reviews and in fact turned out to be nitpicking.

Advantages: Natural sharp image. Convenient rubberized body.

Disadvantages: Protective covers. The lack of a shoulder strap on the bag.

Comment: The double lid on the eyepieces does not hold at all. The design of the lens caps also leaves a lot to be desired. removing the edge may accidentally hit the lens surface.

Advantages: Body material, ease of use, luminosity.

Disadvantages: On the case, it is fastened only to the belt, if you need a shoulder strap, you will have to sew it on. There are no complaints about the binoculars themselves.

Comment: For a long time I was choosing between different companies and models, while studying the characteristics of binoculars at the same time, since the purchase was made for a gift to my father, replacing an old collapsed telescope, which means I had to be 200% sure that I would not buy nonsense. :) As a result, I opted for this model for several reasons: 1. Tenfold approximation - as they say, the golden mean, when the magnification allows you to see what is not visible with the naked eye (and this is just a childish delight), but at the same time and allows you to watch hand-held, without a tripod. 2. Price. I found it for over 4000, and here, on the market. You could add another fifteen hundred and take some kind of celestron with dust and moisture protection, but is it really necessary in domestic use? 3. Brand. Still, Nikon is Nikon, a well-known, recognizable and high-quality brand. Well, such fans of the same brand, like me, will delight. :) The body material is pleasant, rubberized, it sits very firmly in the hands. A tenfold approach allows you to see cars where only the lights of the headlights are visible to the naked eye. The weather does not allow astronauts yet. I am satisfied with the purchase, I advise! Update: For astronomical observations, either a very firm hand or a tripod is needed, after all, too strong shaking. But even just resting on something to look at the Pleiades is a thrill. :)

Advantages: Excellent binoculars.I never thought that in the dark, through binoculars you can see much better than with your eyes. At night, a wild boar is clearly visible in the light of the stars at 50 meters.

Disadvantages: There is no cloth, the material of the lids dubs in the cold and you serve the lids without fixing.

Comment: I took it for hunting. I chose between 12x50 and 10x50 and eventually took both. I left myself 10x50 because there is no tremor in it. Comparing, I realized that 10x50 is more than enough. 12x50 the picture is shaking, but not critical. 12x50 gave it as a gift, it is just fine.
