Opinions about Pentax KP Body
Yandex.Market data
Advantages:
Compactness. A huge number of manual settings. Build quality. Excellent shooting quality in automatic mode. Very good autofocus. Natural colors. Excellent image sharpness. Quiet shutter. Body material - metal. Waterproof.
Disadvantages:
There is nothing to write here.
Comment:
I have been using the Pentax system for many years. The new model only confirmed my choice. Since, while photographing, I walk a lot with a camera and optics behind my back, I need a fairly compact and not very heavy camera with high reliability. The camera should be suitable for both everyday home photography and work. I got all this in this model. This camera is even slightly more compact and lighter than previous SLR models of the manufacturer in the APS-C class.I am very pleased with the new product.

Advantages:
- Image quality (and it is comparable to FF cameras) - Excellent work at high ISO (you can shoot up to 12800 inclusive) - Moisture protection - Excellent stabilization (clear pictures even at 1/4) - Ease of use - Design - Swivel screen - Gorgeous viewfinder - Lots of manual settings - Wonderful bundled strap
Disadvantages:
- A small number of optics with an ultrasonic motor (and optics without it just have a terrible focus)
Comment:
Without a twinge of conscience, I can say that this is the best APS-C camera on the market.

Advantages:
I came to this system and this camera with Canon 1100d, I think that the camera deserves a good rating, I recently went on a kayak trip, and the camera with the 18-135 kit lens survived water drops, high humidity, and even rain perfectly well. He lay in an ordinary backpack, got wet, stayed under the dew, and nothing happened to him. He worked further and created photographs. The stabilizer helped to take clear photos on the water and level the horizon. The color range is gorgeous, it allows you to pull photos out of the shadows, but it keeps the light weaker, but it's also not bad. Pens are useless bullshit. I would make the pen larger than the largest in the kit and leave the small one, the rest is self-indulgence. The large handle is not bad, but it does not at all compare to the handles of conventional DSLRs. Multiple exposure is cool, albeit just software. The optical viewfinder is gorgeous, but I see some kind of texture on the surface, like in an electronic viewfinder .. I don't know what it is, it doesn't interfere with anything, just a note. Three control wheels - very convenient when you get used to. I set myself the third wheel for light sensitivity in M mode, and you don't need more. Working ISO - up to 6400, and in a compartment with a stub ... It looks like a weapon, brutal. But small, it does not cause such a furore among clients (unless, of course, you attach a bat.block) There are a lot of settings, in some I still have not figured out some over the year. A camera for personal growth, can be used for reporting, but focusing ... for a studio - great for a landscape - great for reporting - good for travel - great for sports photography - any static is satisfactory - for this camera. You feel in him a delicate instrument that, with the proper skill, you can tune into a masterpiece. I only shoot in DNG, but jpeg is not bad.
Disadvantages:
It is inconvenient to hold it with one hand, you have to wind the belt around the wrist, since the camera is heavy. The screwdriver focus is slow and noisy (does not interfere), often makes mistakes (maybe a problem with alignment) The screen frames are quite large. The small screen is not enough, but I never got used to it. However, the battery is so weak that it's sad without an additional screen. Again, the battery. If used economically, it will be enough for 600-800 Raws. And so it may be enough for 350. I always carry 3 batteries with me. There is not enough flash firing off. For those who are just going to switch to this system - be careful, think about everything carefully, because then it will be quite difficult to leave the system, the lenses are good, but there are not many devices (ff, for example, there are only two) and they are not particularly sold in used \ at the market. The same problem is finding accessories for the system. I scoured half of the forums to find something I needed. Quite expensive, not widespread, not recognizable, repairs only in MSC, Peter.
Comment:
I will attach examples of photos. Don't forget - the main thing is the lens. And the cameras are now almost all the same. some systems differ in color, range, ease of use. Choose the device in advance, come and hold them in your hands. Only in this way you will understand whether it suits you or not. Happy purchases!

Advantages:
The ability to fully customize the camera for yourself, moisture protection, a lot of modes with the addition of their own, convenient to use in terms of ergonomics, photo quality.
Disadvantages:
I did not find any flaws.
Comment:
I am extremely pleased with the purchase. I have been using it for 2 months only in manual shooting mode and the camera met all expectations. It is simply versatile, you can achieve any result. The Pentax quality is simply outstanding. I suppose that after this camera I will not look at other brands. I recommend to all. I use it with Pentax 40 mm f2.8, Pentax 100-300 mm f4, Tamron 10-24 mm f3.5-5.6 lenses. If you need a camera of the highest quality, this is it!

Advantages:
Updated from Pentax K-5. I'm happy with everything. A quantum leap into the future. Matrix, focusing, Wi-Fi
Disadvantages:
The handle is worse, there is no groove for the thumb. The device is not very comfortable in the right hand
Comment:
I bought a new one for 50t.r. in the RF. Shoots great. Goal accomplished
January 19, 2020, Moscow
Advantages:
The camera has a very large number of various settings, including custom ones. An experienced user can fix his most frequently used settings and quickly turn them on and off. There are special switches for this. The ability to fine tune, such as skin tone. The menu is very convenient and intuitive. Fast autofocus. A large number of possible AF points. They are all visible in the viewfinder. Good light sensitivity. Good, natural color rendering. Detachable handle makes the camera much more compact, especially with limited lenses. In live view, you can see the focus areas at a glance - 3D mode. Silent electronic shutter mode. Swivel screen. Microphone input.
Disadvantages:
Hand-held video is almost impossible. The camera is heavy, but this is a "price" for all-weather conditions. No GPS
Comment:
Almost ideal camera for travel in different weather and light conditions.
April 23, 2019, St. Petersburg
Advantages:
Weatherproof housing, good image quality
Disadvantages:
no
Comment:
Excellent photo appart! I chose it in the first place, because this model has a dustproof, weatherproof housing. The photos taken with it are of very high quality, even in minimal illumination. For those who are planning to do photography professionally - I recommend it!
June 24, 2017, Rostov-on-Don
Advantages:
-excellent stabilization in the carcass -three different grips in the kit -flip-down screen -good color rendering (RAW) -pixel shift -adjust cut -deep customization -7k / s -Af works up to -3EV (in almost complete darkness)
Disadvantages:
- unstable exposure metering - unstable auto WB - all the grips are not very comfortable - AF unhurried - no AF tracking - Pentax was tricky with ISO, and it didn't work out very well (see the review) - it's unrealistic to shoot in JPEG well (see the review)
Comment:
I had a camera on review for 2 weeks. During this time, I tested it both on the street several times and in the studio and on shooting the dynamics. The camera is controversial. On the one hand, there are many interesting things, but they all have their "buts", and often very big ones. The only thing that the camera has no complaints about at all is stabilization. The rest looks very raw. I described everything in great detail in the review, it is located here - http://www.alphatraveller.org/archives/680.
1 March 2018, Moscow
Advantages:
Quite small size. Additional camera functionality: Image stabilization on the matrix, not in the lens. Auto horizon leveler. Bracketing not only in exposure, but also in depth of field and shutter speed. Shutter speed 1/6000 in shutter mode and 1/24000 in electronic mode.
Disadvantages:
Not a very large battery. In winter, in half a day, I had to discharge 2 pieces up to 15% (provided that a video was also filmed) Video. This is not to say that it is absolutely nothing, but if you suddenly need to photograph something from afar and you have the appropriate optics, then the quality will be acceptable. near smartphones shoot the same or better. Choice of lenses. There are enough models for different needs (if there is enough money), but there are very few alternatives from other manufacturers. Of the modern, only Sigma has seen.
Comment:
In order to unleash the full potential of this camera, do not buy lenses of previous generations from Pentax. The MC PENTAX DA 18-55mm f / 3.5-5.6 AL WR is not worth buying. Look for lenses with electronic focus. They are very different from the old ones. When recording video on the street after 30 minutes in not the warmest weather, the camera began to overheat. so to put it as a last resort as an additional camera at some interview is not worth it.

Comment:
The best gift I could get is a Pentax KP Body camera. I specialize in nature photography, I also have to photograph bad weather. So, this camera copes well with such conditions. Despite the rough weather, I can capture unique moments in any conditions, the images are excellent quality with realistic color reproduction. The camera itself is compact, it is comfortable and pleasant to hold in hands, moreover, it is made of shock-resistant material. I have been using it for several months, but I still can't get enough of such a wonderful gift!
