Comment: I bought Monte Cristo 4 to replace the Pocketbook 626 Plus (hereinafter referred to as the pocketbook). I liked the quick loading and intuitive interface, clear library management in the pocketbook. However, after the third broken display on the pocketbook, which breaks very easily from the slightest deformation of the case, it was decided to find the most secure version of the e-book at the moment. Based on the results of reading reviews on the Internet, the choice fell on the ONYX BOOX Monte Cristo 4 model. If the pocketbook was on Linux, then this device works on an android. First of all, I liked the convenient compact size of the reader, which allows you to easily put it in the pocket of a jacket or trousers. Thanks to the metal body, there is no fear of breaking it immediately. Secondly, the adjustable backlight temperature allows you to choose a convenient reading mode for reading in various lighting conditions, including poorly lit ones. Although it was not without difficulties either - in the first days of use, uncontrolled flipping of books and a complete loss of control of the device appeared (the screen and buttons did not work). But all other advantages outweigh the disadvantages. In general, the device is good, it is recommended for purchase if you want a reader that is reliable against mechanical stress.

Advantages: - Looks great, a little quicker than the past, a chic new backlight. - Onyx's most important feature is in place - the maximum possibilities for customizing the book for yourself. - Convenient firmware in the latest version.

Disadvantages: - In the latest firmware version, many flaws have been removed. - But there was a problem with a somewhat fast battery discharge. Sometimes the charge reaches 100, and then literally for a few minutes drops to ~ 50% and you have to charge again. Well, the benefit of a week and a half still holds. - The screen is very easily soiled, but durable. - An error is also saved when connecting a book from a computer and reading files from a memory card - not all folders and files are visible (you need to remove and insert the card into the book).

Comment: After purchase, be sure to install the latest firmware! In general, an excellent model, albeit without flaws.

Advantages: - Nice screen with adjustable backlight, very responsive and pleasing to the eye. - Excellent support for formats.

Disadvantages: - Uneven illumination in the lower right corner. - Side touch buttons behave very strange. In most cases, no touch is registered.

Comment: Great book. I read almost daily and am happy. Just keep in mind that the screen size is not at all suitable for reading PDF and similar formats.

Advantages: The battery is capacious, durable, inexpensive, high image quality, easy to operate with one hand.

Disadvantages: The only drawback of the reader is that the 6 '' screen is too small for reading books in PDF and DJVU formats.

Comment: I have long wanted to buy an e-book with E-Ink technology, by the evening my eyes get tired and reading from a phone or tablet can be stressful. So far I like everything, I have been using it for more than a week, I haven’t charged it yet. First of all I liked the book because of its functionality - there are many formats, both text and graphic, so there is no question of converting. Formats reproduce any and this makes it even more pleasant to use. , I throw it right from my computer or download it from public resources to the reader, so the choice is not limited in any way and nothing needs to be converted.

Comment: Do not misunderstand me, everything is learned in comparison. I compared many similar books, this one seemed to me more interesting. This can be seen not in the technical characteristics, design and quality of work. Moreover, the set includes a cover, which I consider an advantage. The cost, yes, it is higher, but that is a necessary measure.

There is no protection against water, but somehow I don’t really believe the bookmakers in this option, it, in principle, is not even needed. Software with support for everything and everyone, on Android OS. All modern technologies and communications are involved. Very nice cover included.

Comment: Before that I already had the experience of reading on Onyx, then with the Android OS. But this one surprised me. It's so compact that it's hard to believe, with a 6-inch screen. The book is made in a metal case and the screen is protected by special glass, which does not spoil the image at all.The screen itself is the most modern and touch-sensitive, like the buttons. Very interesting colored lighting. The interface has not changed much, but the speed of redrawing images has accelerated, as well as the battery life. By tradition, it comes with a cover, they keep getting better and better. And Wi-Fi with Bluetooth won't get in the way if not audio output. I liked the book very much.
