Advantages: Nice screen, great design, compact body + small bezels, uniform backlighting close to white.
Disadvantages: Ergonomics is still no better than the old 615 and 615+, the price tag for a budget device is high.
Comment: I had a special relationship with the 616th, after my Onyxboox vasco da gama, decided to die by itself lying on the shelf, (as well as, similarly, 515 pocket, which you can contemplate in the photo), I have already scored on the reading rooms , and started reading from the phone, in stores at that time they were selling 615+ in brown version, a beautiful bastard, but after the death of onyx, I was in no hurry to buy it then. And when a new line of pockets came out, then the "palms were sweating", they say the cases are light, the frames are thin, and the design was updated. As a result, I decided that 616 pocket is just right for me, I don't need the sensor. Now on the subject: It is really compact and lightweight (in the photo you can see the difference with my deceased 515), after Vasco da Gama, the body seems to be noticeably less straight, and this is important because the book was purchased in winter, and it already fits in a jacket pocket , and because of this you can carry it with you in the cold. I was pleased with the reduction of the frames, and the design as a whole - the device looks really beautiful. The reader's screen itself is clear, there are no complaints, the backlight is gray-white, uniform by the way (onyx was a little chaotic with blue, everything is ok). the menu itself is laconic and pleasant - made in a human way. But what fell victim to the design was the buttons, the joystick, for convenience at the 615 level, and the paging buttons are too small for men's hands, but in general it is not critical - you get used to it. The battery is traditionally, it keeps overmay days, I am once again convinced that the Linux reader is doing just fine. The price tag for a book for a budget device, I can't call it small, for this money you can take Darwin onyx, and if you really take a digma, then there will also be a cover and an ice cream parlor for children, but onyxes suffer from dead battery, and digmas much easier to implement, and for some reason their card-screens are very gray, so it turns out that the price tag is not small, but it seems justified. Before buying, I strongly recommend that you look at the book in the store, evaluate the ergonomics. I liked 616, it looks great, it's nice to use

Advantages: 1) Three-year warranty 2) Backlight 3) Price
Disadvantages: no
Comment: In general, this is my first experience with an e-book.I wanted to buy for a long time, but all the time I got along with a phone and did not want to allocate money for another gadget, which, as it seemed to me, could be completely dispensed with. But somehow, somehow there was more free time, I also began to read more, respectively, the thought of buying a reader returned. In fact, I chose between two options: a fresh 616 pocketbook (released literally 2 weeks ago) and an analog from the Kindle. The warranty outweighed (3 years for a pocketbook and a maximum of a year for outbids, moreover, it is not clear where). The price tag is not that much of a difference, so I took the package. For those who are afraid to take, because it is "difficult", I answer - I figured out absolutely everything in an hour. A very intuitive device. You can download books via cable, it's fast. There is no Internet, and it is not needed. But there is backlighting - it's cool for a relatively cheap reader.

Advantages: Excellent screen. My eyes do not hurt at all from him, and with my astigmatism and myopia - this is a direct indicator. Well, the backlight is soft, it doesn't hurt your eyes, it's also good. Even if there is complete darkness around.
Disadvantages: no
Comment: As for me, the main thing in an e-book is the screen and the backlight. All these wi-fi, water resistance, touch screen - in order to raise the cost. But the screen depends on how comfortable it will be to read. The 616 is fine with that. I think I have found myself a book for the next few years.

Advantages: Carta screen. For those who do not know: there are several generations of screens in e-books - wizplex, pearl and carta. Carta is the most recent and has the highest contrast ratio of all. That is, if the visplex is a light gray background and gray letters, then the card is a white background and black letters. The same screen as in the book pages is indistinguishable. The battery, as in most e-books NOT on android, holds more than a month if you read it for an hour a day. The shell (firmware) is not burdened with anything superfluous. Very simple directory, simple sorting, everything is as it should be. The case does not slip in your hands and in general it is very comfortable to hold it. However, I have big palms, so I cannot be completely objective, but for me the ergonomics are 616 by 10 out of 10. There is backlighting, which is a rarity for models of this level

I bought it on the 1st day as it came out - it happened by accident). I am using the third week. Before that I bought 615+ for my parents. If you put it next to it, the screen itself is the same size, and the 616's bezels are much smaller. Regarding the design, both books are pretty, I can't say that any model is more attractive. in 615+ the buttons are closed (there are no slots - nothing will get there for sure), in 616 - open. The only thing is that I did not find how to quickly turn on and off the backlight. In 615+, double click on the center button. I bought it for 8000. How the price jumped by 1000 in a couple of weeks is a mystery). The dollar jumped can).

Advantages: Price, dimensions, screen
Disadvantages: I didn't like the backlight, although there is nothing to compare with.
Comment: Gentlemen, specify when ordering what kind of model they want to sell to you. Many stores sell a version called Pocketbook Basic Lux 2. It seems to be not a fake, but the box says "not intended for sale in Russia ..." Version for Europe, or something like that. I climbed on the British and German sites - there is this particular model, and it has wi-fi. Apparently, with the help of some cunning manipulations and logistics, this version can be imported into the Russian Federation cheaper. The warranty period for such a model (if I am mistaken, correct it) is less than for the official model called PocketBook 616, and the warranty is from stores, not from PocketBook service centers.

Advantages: There is a backlight, a screen with a good resolution, no pixels on the fonts are visible, the backlight does not turn yellow, convenient paging buttons that will definitely not fall out and crunch.
Disadvantages: On / off button from below, unusual.
Comment: In fact, I chose from two books - Pocketbook 614LE and Pocketbook 616. I decided to pay a little extra and take the backlit version with a more contrasting screen. Toad of course puffed a little, plus there is no complete cover here, but I do not regret that I made such a choice. Because, most likely, in the case of 614, I would also have to buy a flash drive. And so - no flash is needed, because 8 gigs of your memory. And it works visually faster.

The simplest book in the line of pocketbooks, but it does not mean that it is bad. In my opinion, it has quite a lot of advantages: firstly, it is new, which means that the firmware will be updated if any jambs are found. Secondly, although it is the simplest, there is a backlight here. Third, the screen. Here and Carta, here and the resolution is large enough for 6 inches. And fourthly, design! Finally, in the pocketbooks, they hired a designer who removed the hefty frames and buttons and reduced the size. Now, not only is it cool to read, but it's not a shame to hold it in your hands.

Advantages: Nice book. After Digma - like a Mercedes after a Lada :)
Disadvantages: The firmware does not show more than half of the pictures in FB2 books. They know about the problem, but they don't solve it.
Comment: Overall a very good book. She's especially good after Digma. But one moment is annoying - the book does not show more than half of the pictures in FB2 books. I don’t know how with books of other formats, but in FB2 it hardly shows pictures. It's a little annoying. Hopefully a new firmware will be released to fix this bug.

Advantages: Lightweight Compact Backlighting Long-lasting charging Omnivorous in terms of formats
Disadvantages: The central reduced button, in my opinion, is too small, you can accidentally press something that was not intended. It seems to me that it should have been left round, the space on the reader allows. I still don't like the recount of pages, it seems that she does not count electronic as previous models, but printed pages, that is, the numbering changes after four scrolls. Well, I would also like the developers to return the ability to see the title of the book you are reading at the bottom of the screen.
Comment: I have been using pockets since 2009, I bought my first 301 reader in 2009, I remember well how they stared at me in the subway. I bought it for 12 thousand, served me 4 years and would probably still have served if I hadn't accidentally sat on it. The next model was 614, I took it for myself, my wife and parents, and yesterday I already bought 616 for my child. Long chose between 614 and 616 and settled on the latter. Outweighed by a more compact size, a more contrasting screen and a fairly well-made backlight. When I picked it up for the first time, in comparison with the previous models, it seemed like some kind of frivolous, small, thin, and it will jump out of my hands. After purchasing the cover, it became more solid and more pleasant to hold in your hands. In general, I am satisfied with PocketBook readers, I consider them the best among readers.
