Opinions from the TrendVision TDR-718GP
-video quality
-working GPS
- manufacturer support
-Lots of video resolutions
-support 60 fps
-video stream 36 Mbps
-Support for voice notification of cameras and dummies
-presence of a polarizing filter
- housing
- external external GPS module
-no indicator of operation of the GPS module itself
-screen resolution
-the viewing angle would like a little more
-the price is slightly overpriced
-sensitive to memory cards, especially when recording above 32 Mbps (3 min video weighs under 800 Mb, at FullHD and 60 frames)
- successfully passed frost tests over 25 degrees, turned on and off without glitches
-for today, the best reg for me from all the others.
The model has been in operation since August 2015 with third-party firmware, so the recording quality was quite satisfying day and night. The suction cup has never fallen off in a year. The rest is more or less.
The flimsy connector on the GPS unit is loose from the vibrations of the USB cable.
The power button worked from accidental pressing - it is extremely inconvenient.
Most importantly, a week after the end of the warranty period, the recording became high contrast and turned into a jumble of vertical stripes.
What is the score for? For the fact that the SC made repairs completely free of charge: eliminated the malfunction of the optics unit, replacing it, and replaced the battery on its own initiative, replaced the firmware, after which the operation of the power button does not cause any complaints. How the quality has changed - further testing will show.
Open the manufacturer's website and read everything that is written about this recorder - in dry technical language all the advantages and advantages of the device are described there.
I will be brief: a very successful quick-release mount, a rich package bundle, a quick-release polarizing filter, a large screen, convenient control, SpeedCam, a lot of useful functions that are not available or are poorly implemented in other devices (I have a huge experience in using recorders), excellent video quality, excellent manufacturer-buyer feedback
Our manufacturer is Russian, even if the recorders are produced in China, but the entire engineering part lies with Russian engineers. And this is not a lousy article ad slogan, it's true.
Someone pays attention to the fact that the GPS module of the recorder is remote. Guys and ladies - there are no downsides to this, except maybe some additional hassle with the installation. You just set and forgot. But the reception of the satellite signal will be more confident than in other cases, when the GPS is built into the recorder itself or sticks out of the mount.
And there are NO additional wires to the recorder with such a GPS module as the TDR-718. The module has a pass-through power supply, that is, power is supplied to the recorder through the GPS module wire. That is, only one wire is plugged into the recorder, or rather into the recorder bracket, as is the case with other normal devices.
It is definitely the best device today in terms of price / performance / quality / functionality ratio.
1. Magnetic mount with contacts. Quick and safe removal of the recorder
2. Quick finding of satellites within 1 min. (in summer).
3. A simple update of the radar database for speedcam (the base is on their website, but you need to insert a memory card into the card reader).
4. I go to Moscow, for 2 weeks I did not say only about 1 camera.
5. Good quality of shooting, settled on 2560x1080 mode.
6. The light filter really removes glare.
7. 2 main advantages: Speedcam work and quality of shooting.
8. Viewing the distance traveled on the map through a datacom program (the program can be downloaded from the trendvision website, through a card reader) or simply viewing through most media players.
Before that, there was datacam 8 (stopped catching satellites), I got used to it when he started to crack when the camera approached at a speed of more than 20 km. 718 warns, but does not beep when overspeed. Maybe I didn't figure it out.
When approaching the cameras: warns of the distance to the camera, what a swing. speed on this road, the screen flashes - speed is on. After passing (approx. 50 m behind the camera), it makes a sound that the camera has passed, and the screen goes out.
