Essentially the same Red, only without head parking. It is likely because of this, in theory, he will be livelier than the neighboring Red series. I have one more 3 TB Red (WD30EFRX) - in terms of speed it is not inferior or faster. Both are super hard. If we talk about home use (without delving into the purpose of the manufacturer, like the Purple series - discs for non-stop recording of video surveillance systems), then Purple is more suitable for those who download a lot from torrents without turning off the computer.

Advantages:
Quiet. It stands in the NVR-recorder and is almost inaudible (despite the fact that this disk is the only device with a motor in the room, everything else is fanless).
Disadvantages:
I arrived in a sachet without packaging, at least put it in a box or something.
Comment:
I will not say anything about the read / write speed, because I use it in a DVR. 5-8 cameras from 2 to 5 megapixels pulls calmly, 3 TB is enough for about a month of archive with continuous recording.
