Advantages:
Power, price, manufacturability (4 PSI-E, 16 streams)
Disadvantages:
Hot, which is expected, but you can live and fight with it, if you dig a little in the BIOS (since PBO sets a deliberately high voltage) + a budget tower cooler for 3k rubles
Comment:
I'm not a fanboy of any of the camps. Before that I was Intel, but now I took AMD because they give top performance and for sane money. Those who follow the news of iron are aware of the AMD combo and about the lid in the blue coffin with the release of new threads of the thread. to which the intel has nothing to answer. (and there are no prospects for a couple of years ... this is for the better, there should be competition, let the intel get together and give something new in a couple of years ... they sat up and sat resting on their laurels) By the very process: stood the choice is between 3700x and 3800x, but since the price differed by 800 rubles, I took the last one. Bikes about the 3700 heat package at 65 watts pure marketing. In reality, both eat a lot (there are a lot of tests in the internet and the difference in temperatures is 3-5 degrees, and in about 15-25 watts) As they wrote above, my copy also clocked up to 4400 MHz across all cores and flows at 1.280 volts. At 4300, 1.265 volts are enough. In degrees between the two modes, the difference is 2-3 units. The funny thing is that when the technology is turned on PBO (by the way, she cuts in 1.4+ volts) gr It is stronger and overclocking for all cores is max 4.2. Therefore, I recommend turning it off and finding a stable frequency for all cores yourself (4300 for all cores, I think many will take at 1.25-1.3 volts) According to tests in LinX and the like - percent in overclocking at a frequency of 4400 all cores above 83 did not warm up (the cooler keeps). In practice, such a load will be rare. Another main difference from the same Intel i7 9700k, that in games AMD is weaker by 5-10%, but the load at AMD is 25-35% lower, which hints at its power and groundwork for the future. With a conditional fps of 150 for Intel, AMD gives 145 FPS, but Intel percent is loaded by 35-70%, and AMD by 15-35. On the iron, briefly: Mother- MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIF Cooler -DeepCool Gammixx (something like this, for about 3k) Operative G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO F4-3600C16D-16GTZNC 2x8GB Power supply unit- DepCool 700 watts (bronze cert) Video rtx 2070super (fills a jet stream with top-end cooling among 2070) SSD - take your money with M2 or a regular Case - Zalman i3 (4 coolers on board in the base) is quite satisfied with it.

Price / quality for a gaming pc. I gave 21400 for the boxing version. This is a great processor for years to come, for the right price. The main thing is to take the normal memory. Ideally, a Samsung bi give it, but it is quite possible for yourself to take not expensive crushl per micron e give it, they also take 3600-3800 MHz for themselves. I took the memory of Kingston Hyperix to bi-dye. On 4 slats, I squeezed 3600 (3733 could be squeezed out, but did not) at 16-16-16-32 cr1 1.420 V, with a latency of about 66.5-66.7 ns. With 2 dies, we managed to shrink the secondary to 62.6-62.7 ns at 3800, with the same timings and voltage of 1.390 V.By the way, the same memory on the same board with 3900x 3800 MHz did not take, so there is a direct dependence on the memory controller in the processor. In general, I tried both 2700 and 9900k. I honestly thought that I would see the difference, the eye is trained. But with a normal video card, if you turn off the monitoring, there is no difference between playing on a TV or on a 120 Hz monitor. In both cases, the picture is very smooth. Why did I take 3800x for myself? All the same, it is practically equal to 9900k + there were 10,000 free re. For 9900k I was not ready to pay 33,000 + re (at the time of purchase of 9900k, I had at least 35,600 re), especially not seeing any clear advantages. In fact, taking into account the budget, now we have a choice of 2 processors, 3600 and 3700x / 3800x. Until Intel lowers the price tag of processors with the same characteristics close to 3600 and 3700x / 3800x, I see no competition. All the same, development is an increase in productivity for +/- the same money, but what did Intel do? Raised the price tag for the civilian top almost 2 times, and before that from 8700k by a quarter, relative to 4y / 8p ay7. This is not development. This is a sandy bridge that has been licked in 10 years. There was no serious competition and the intel just collected profits. Is there a competition? They gave 6 and 8 nuclear stubs without a multithread for a lot of money. As a longtime Intel consumer, I am extremely upset. In general, taking 3800x, you will get an excellent processor for work and games for a reasonable price. I am extremely pleased.

Excellent percent. I switched to it from 3600. I needed more cores. Long thought between 3700x and 3800x. The prices are the same, but the heat dissipation is different. But still I decided to take the older model. Set. At rest, the speed is 4400, and the temperature is 50! And the voltage is 1.47. Strained. My 3600 showed 4200 at rest at 30 degrees. And here's a special thank you to the guys who leave feedback. I went into Bios and disabled PBO. Put voltage 1.27 and speed 4500. And lo and behold, the temperature dropped to 28-30 at rest. Happy as an elephant!)

Disadvantages:
You need to search, read information, configure, flash, etc. All this takes far from 5 minutes. Insert and forget will not work, even if you are not a fan of overclocking. in the runoff temperatures are not encouraging. Not to say that this is a serious drawback - the result should be pleasing in the end.
Comment:
I took the OEM version for 21 tr, despite the fact that 3700X OEM in the same store cost and now costs 23. Just want to once again tell people in previous reviews for the tips, they really helped. Perhaps I just came across a successful copy, perhaps a mega successful one, or maybe it will work for you too, try it. Now everything has become stable, the temperatures are normal and adequate. The first step was to turn off PBO. Then, first I set 4400 MHz for all cores at 1.2875v, then 4500 MHz at 1.25v in general. Temperatures became 35-38 degrees at idle, in games 50-56. C PBO was automatically set to 1.4-1.45v and higher, peak frequencies reached 4550 MHz, but no more ... Temperatures in idle were 45-50 degrees, in games 60-72. All measurements are in a closed case. The temperature in the room is 25 degrees. If necessary, accessories: Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x16 GB 3600 MHz 16-19-19-39 Power supply: Chieftec Proton BDF-750C 750 watts CPU cooler: Deepcool Gammax GT TGA + add. blowing fan Housing: Zalman i3 with 3 blowing fans inside the casing (3 Zalman fans included with this casing were rearranged inside the casing - control via the built-in reobass, the speed and brightness of the backlight are controlled simultaneously, it can also be completely turned off. , but when they work at full temperature lower by 3-5 degrees) and 6 Deepcool CF120 fans - 3 for blowing in the front wall and 3 for blowing out - 1 at the back, 2 at the top.

Advantages:
Accelerates Excellent renders, and in general everything flies, a good alternative to 9900K Price
Disadvantages:

Comment:
I took OEM for 23k without a box, while 3700x cost 22600, obviously I chose it, because the cooler was not originally going to be boxed. The percentage on the MSI b450m carbon ac motherboard, at a voltage of 1.35V, took a frequency of 4.4GHz across all cores, keeps it stable, the temperature under long-term loads is 100% around 83 degrees, with a budget tower for 3 tr. In addition, it works stably at 1.25V at 4.3GHz at a temperature of 74.5 degrees after 3 hours of 100% load (Corona render). In fact, there is no particular difference, I stopped at the second option. Very happy with the purchase.

Advantages:
Price / performance ratio. Full 8 cores + 8 virtual. High performance rating in single thread mode (even slightly above 3900x). Despite the declared support for DDR4 only up to 3200, the memory controller works stably up to 3600.
Disadvantages:
Above the stated TDP in the Prime95 SmallFFT stress test with the stock BIOS Combo-AM4 1.0.0.4 Patch B settings (see comment). The cooler from the BOX version is not suitable for cooling this processor. In synthetic tests Aida64, the memory write speed is two times lower than the read speed.
Comment:
It makes no sense to raise the memory frequency above 3600, since in this case, the internal processor bus switches to 2: 1 mode and starts operating at half the DRAM frequency, which negatively affects the overall performance (memory latency increases, copy speed decreases, etc.). The fact that the write speed to memory is two times less than reading is recognized by AMD and is explained by the peculiarities of the architecture. The same feature is observed in the 3600 and 3700, but absent in the 3900 and 3950. AMD assures that pure writing is rarely found in real applications, which is indirectly confirmed by the memory copy test in which the speed is close to the read speed. It is possible that this is not a drawback, but nevertheless it is difficult to unequivocally state that there are no bottlenecks in which this architectural feature can negatively affect the overall performance. In order for the processor to meet the declared TDP in stress tests, I took the following steps: 1) Replacing the standard cooler with a tower cooler be quiet! DARK ROCK 4.2) Replacing the thermal paste from the DARK ROCK kit with Noctua NT-H2. 3) Setting the CPU VCore Voltage to Offset -105mV mode, as well as changing the VCore Line Load-Line Calibration profile (see screenshot). Result: 1) Performance results (including turbo frequencies) are the same as before changing BIOS settings. 2) Reducing power consumption from 130W to 101W in Prime95 Small FFT, 3) Temperature during the half-hour stress test: Prime95 Small FFT: 79 degrees. Aida64: 74 degrees. 4) The average temperature at low loads is 45 degrees, in idle time it sometimes drops below 40. I selected VCore Offset from -75 to 120mV. For my samples, values above -110mV lead to performance degradation.

Advantages:
I thought about taking 3700x, but 3800x turned out to be cheaper by 200r, xs like that, so I took it. On AsRock x5700 extreme4 it works perfectly, HyperX HX432C16PB3AK2 / 32 memory (2 strips 16 gig each), thermalright macho rev.b cooling, everything started without dancing with a tambourine, immediately set the XMP profile to 3200. The percentage of 1 core showed 4550 MHz in Aida , for all cores in the 4300 MHz test, this is without overclocking and other things, everything is by default.
Disadvantages:
Not noticed yet.
Comment:
For the cooling system, I chose a midi case for a long time, where the place for it is 170 + mm, I stopped at the gamemax black hole in it, two 200mm turntables were already installed in front, I also put 2 on the top 140mm and one back 120mm, bp at the bottom, everything fit perfectly. Processor 3800x at idle 33 degrees, at full load 66 degrees, in games 52-58 depending on the game. The only advise is to set the speed of the cooler of the x570 chip to 85-90%, since they all heat up to 75-80 degrees on the machine or even higher on other mothers, at high speeds the chip heats up in idle 55-56 degrees, in the load +10 degrees , which is normal in principle (4300 on the chip is not audible at all).

Advantages:
Good. Especially in work tasks (video editing).
Comment:
An unpleasant moment - on the boxed cooler and the GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING motherboard, there is a constant change of speed on the cooler. It is very audible in the silence. At the slightest activity (yes, at least move the mouse), the revolutions jump, and it makes noise. And the boxed cooler and the regular mode do not hold well. Under full load, the temperature goes under 95 degrees. Overclocking is impossible. I'm looking closely at water cooling, maybe it will help in terms of silence.

Advantages:
Highest performance for a reasonable price. Gaming performance is at a decent level. You won't notice a slight lag behind Intel. In rendering and other tasks that require processor power, it is much faster and more preferable than more expensive competitors from you know who. PCI-EXPRESS 4.0 support is a good start for the future.
Disadvantages:
Very high fever. With the Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240 dropsy, during long rendering in C4D, the temperature reaches 75.76 degrees (by the diode CPU sensor, not the "cap sensor"). I am silent about stress tests, that is why they are stress tests. Aida64 - about 80 degrees (full load on the CPU, video card, memory, etc.) In games, the i7 8700K and Intel counterparts are slightly inferior. But who cares ?! For a smooth picture (no stripes on the screen), you still have to turn on vertical sync in almost all games. As a result, we still have 60 frames per second.
Comment:
AMD has almost always made compromise products. That is, if you feel sorry for the money for top-end hardware from Intel / Nvidia, take AMD, but with a number of reservations. In the 3000 line, these reservations have become less, in my opinion. Such a processor is enough for my GTX 1070 Ti. And in rendering and resource-intensive tasks, it is much faster than Intel counterparts for a similar price. For lovers just to play and overclock - I do not recommend it. Buy yourself Intel and be happy ... For work, for example, with graphics and 3D - that's it! If it is cheaper than 3700X, then take it, you will not regret it!

Advantages:
I did not find a good stone of problems with it, thanks to people who write reviews and attach photos to this. I bought a stone with a boxed cooler, set the cooler to work harder and I don’t care about the noise. I put it on a stone 4500 prii 1.25v in idle it heats up from 36 to 39 degrees. I haven't tested it in games yet ... I realized one thing needs more airflow for the case, in my case there is still 1 cooler for blowing and 1 for blowing, this is not enough = D
Disadvantages:
The stone heats up well in comparison with Intel, but good coolers will fix everything. I haven't found anything else yet
Comment:
I am completely satisfied with the purchase. AMD RYZEN 7 -3800X Mother; X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING (rev. 1.0) Video card; MSI 1050TI Memory; kingston hyperx fury 16gb 2400 overclocked to 3200
