Advantages: Excellent and uniform detailing throughout the field, at all focal lengths and at all apertures. Allows all 30 megapixels of the 5D Mark IV. Focuses quickly. No misses were noticed on any of the focus points. Great colors and contrast. Nice blur of the background.

Disadvantages: Strong vignetting at 2.8. At 16 mm, it's just the wildest. However, it is easy to correct programmatically.

Comment: Previously used 16-35 2.8 II and 16-35 4 IS. The first was just terrible around the edges and corners at focal lengths up to 24mm. For this very reason, it was not suitable for landscape or architecture. At 35 mm, it also did not shine with sharpness. Appeared on sale 16-35 4 IS, bought it. He turned out to be uniformly sharp at all focal points throughout the entire frame. However, it did not please with color and contrast. It seemed dull in these plans compared to the 16-35 2.8 II, it gave out some kind of dryish picture. To some extent, all this was offset by the presence of a stabilizer. And so Canon made the third version of this shirik. I shoot and the eye is happy! The picture is not harsh, but at the same time the detailing is at a decent level. If you have the necessary amount and are still thinking about replacing the second version - then money in your hands and go to the store! If a beautifully blurred background is not part of your wide-angle shots, and you can accept some difference in color and contrast, then it is better, of course, to take or stay with the 16-35 4 IS.

Advantages: Weight: just right for a wedding report. Water resistance is definitely. Fast and accurate focusing. Large: looks solid.

Disadvantages: 1. Well, ooooooo cosmic value for him. 2. Lightweight, which does not inspire confidence in reliability. 3. Very dark at a focal length of 16mm

Comment: I bought it for 100K in Moscow at Savyolovsky, while the officials had it for 160K. After the purchase, I just grew attached to the carcass - I was struck by its accuracy and focusing speed, and therefore my lenses from Sigma immediately became outdated, the difference is colossal. After the purchase, I immediately went into battle, snapped it off almost the entire wedding, ran it in, so to speak, and then studied the photo in more detail on the computer on the back-front focus object, and did not find a single such case! With this he takes, you as a photographer will not miss a single moment! Regarding the weight and "plasticity" of the lens, I can say that it does not inspire confidence, the rubber focusing and zooming rings are also questionable - there are fears that they will stretch like 24-70 II L, but this is subjective. It is very dark at minimum focal lengths, in the corners, sometimes you can't pull it out of Raw. In general, the lens is very decent: an ultra-wide angle, tenacity and focusing speed, ringing sharpness (across the entire frame) and, most importantly, the confidence that you will not miss, fully justify its price.

Advantages: Now this is my favorite lens, before that it was based on the 135L prime. I chose two months between 16-35 II version, and fixed 24mm II and 24-70mm. As a result, I came across this glass - I freaked out, took it, so as not to waste time on comparisons. Squealing like a little girl. It is both sharp, and when you need artistic ... and when you need to break the perspective - it's easy - you need everything neat - the horizon and the vertical - you can measure it with a ruler. And a portrait, and even a macro can. The construct looks very reliable. It seems that the children will still get it.

Disadvantages: It misses stably 1 time out of 5. There are some barely noticeable stripes on 4K video (shot on mark4). I tried to set different settings, the stripes do not disappear. I insert 135 mm, no stripes. In the photo - no. Strange, a little strained.

Comment: 16-35 I think it's not worth changing the second version to the third. If you are looking for the first and last, coolest, best, shirik - you have found it!

Advantages: I always shot with fixes. I got into the hands of this zoom. Didn't see the difference in photo quality. And if there is no difference, then the zoom is more convenient, but somewhere it is simply irreplaceable. Against the sun - no glare.

Disadvantages: Have not found. Well, maybe the price is for me.

Comment: I was a fan of fixes. This lens cured me.

Advantages: Definitely better than version 2. Sharp enough in the corners.

Disadvantages: Strong vignette. Space price.

Comment: Took for filming in the interior, dresses, landscapes, weddings and reports. 16-35 turned out to be not as versatile as I expected, unfortunately. 16mm is great, more than 80% of the photo is on this focal point, but to 35mm well, it’s not at all here or there. I am a supporter of fixes, in the arsenal there are 35 1.4. More versatile 24-70 2 versions, I think this is really a must-have. And yes, the vignette is terrible - it is correct - but not without losses, I think the glass was primarily prepared for mark4 and higher.

Advantages: Bought for interior photography. The aperture is excellent, the focusing speed is instant. The lens is super. Recommend. When you use it, it feels like you are holding one of the best, latest optical technologies from Canon. He's worth his money.

Disadvantages: They are not.

Comment:

Advantages: The optics have become better in contrast to 16_35 II, the new lens is sharper by 16mm, the color rendition has been corrected, the skin has ceased to give earthy shades.

Disadvantages: The price is exaggerated considering that the case is not metal

Comment:

Advantages: Stunning sharpness starting at 2.8 on all FRs from center to Krav on a full 5DM4 frame

Disadvantages: Very expensive, but probably worth the money

Comment: So far I just bought it, compared it with 24-70 2.8 L: at 24 and 35 it shoots much more clearly

Advantages: Sharpness, color rendering, fast focusing, build quality. Easily makes soft bokeh.

Disadvantages: Didn't find it.

Comment: Acquired for shooting mainly landscapes and architecture. The lens copes with this task just fine. The detail is high, the lens demonstrates very high sharpness throughout the entire focal length range and almost across the entire frame. Separately, you can also highlight the accuracy and speed of autofocus. At the same time, at the maximum focal length of 35 mm, if desired, you can shoot waist-length and full-length portraits. The bokeh is soft, with smooth blurred highlights in the out-of-focus area.The lens is protected from dust and moisture, all joints are sealed with rubber gaskets, and there is a rubber ring around the mount that protects the lens from the end when it is mounted on the camera. It was a little embarrassing that Canon, positioning the lens as a top-end one, puts it in a soft case, although on other models a hard or semi-hard case is used (for example, Canon EF 70-200 / 2.8L USM). In general, I am very pleased with the purchase. Perfectly complemented my kit.
