Advantages: One of the cheapest lenses from the L series (not compromising on quality). Good focal lengths. Fast, sharp, light. The build quality is, in my opinion, inappropriate to mention in relation to the lenses of this series, since it is always at its best. Internal focusing - there will be no dust inside. Convenient transition from auto-focusing to manual mode (fine-tuning).
Disadvantages: L-series glasses have no drawbacks. After all, it is stupid to write that it does not have a very large aperture or that there is no "stub". The device with the above set costs completely different money. So this glass has no drawbacks.
Comment: I had the experience of using his "older" brother with 2.8 aperture. So this one is just a "feather". Well, yes, undoubtedly, you should always keep in mind that shutter speeds longer than 1/320 (for a crop) can be more troublesome when shooting handheld to stabilize your position in space. But then when you complain about the missing stabilizer, remember that with it it costs 15 tyrs more, but if you become capricious about the lack of light, then the price of 80 tr. should be as effective as any sedative, this lens does its job well. It is a pleasure for them to shoot reports. And he is friends with the flash. This solves the lack of light.

Advantages: - a great lens, you can feel that you are holding a reliable, high-quality thing, in contrast to cheaper telephoto cameras; - no backlash, jamming, etc. everything is clear and competent! - quickly focuses, at any angle. - the quality of the photo is simply amazing! - Convenient focal lengths for shooting details, portraits and reportage. They also like to shoot the city - not the landscape of course, but the details of buildings, narrow streets, etc.
Disadvantages: Objectively evaluating - I can't find more than one, although when choosing from several, one was not much inferior in front / back focus to the other. So you need to pay attention to this.
Comment: I recommend for those who like to shoot portraits on the street, in the studio, but not in small rooms. Also for those who pay more attention to details rather than landscapes. Definitely worth the money (19300 in my case) I have long understood that it is better, with an equal budget, to buy an inexpensive carcass and a good lens than a good carcass and an inexpensive lens! I use it with a cropped Canon 60D camera - I'm completely satisfied with such a bundle.

Advantages: Excellent lens with constant aperture and pattern, fast autofocus, with external flash works great indoors, portrait, no moving parts, which is convenient to use with a polarizer.
Disadvantages: Of the shortcomings, if only it is heavy and the hood would be prettier.
Comment: Some write that there is no stub and wide angle, but this is 70-200 without IS, and in general, they used to shoot without AF and IS, and it turned out great, they got used to the fact that everything is done by technology, and for extra. functions and luminosity have to be paid extra. I chose for a long time and by 18-55 I took 70-200, I never regretted. If anyone does not know, the white color of the lens for less temperature influence on Fluorite lenses.

Advantages: Lightweight, durable, comfortable, draws beautifully and washes the background, but sharp, predictable, the focus switch (3-infinity) is very helpful when shooting sports. Affordable price of accessories.
Disadvantages: Sometimes (very rarely) focus misses. And given that it is quite long here, refocusing takes some time.
Comment: Very comfortable tele-zoom. I use it with 7d. Shows itself perfectly. Very sharp. Unlike 17-40L, it does not require any post-processing sharpness correction. Very fast and quiet USM. The hood protects the lens from rain and snow despite everything. Despite the low aperture, you can shoot even in the evening - there would be a desire and straight arms.

Advantages: FR, build quality, appearance, fast focusing, price, picture quality, bokeh.
Disadvantages: not found.
Comment: I use it at 5Dm2, the lack of f4.0 is compensated by ISO and puff, the picture is better than in 24-105L. Sharpness 5+.

Advantages: -Weight. which sometimes turns out to be decisive in the fight against shake, I use a monopod and do not know the troubles) -constructive. it is very pleasant to realize that in conjunction with a good camera, they do not care about the weather conditions, just wipe the drops from the protective glass and shoot further .. - ease of use. after which many lenses simply begin to dislike their ergonomics. everything is clear here. - shooting capabilities and picture quality. the picture that turns out on F4 is very pleasing even when viewed in the camera, what can we say if you press the aperture down to 7-9 !! it's just a song - full control of the details in the picture!
Disadvantages: I'm not going to write about the aperture and stub, but there are simply no others. And yet I will mention the white color of the case (I have already partially covered it with a dark film), well, the hood scares me) - inelegant and rough, lies at home, I don't use it. Nevertheless, it has been on sale for 13 years, I don't think a bad thing would have had such a production time ..
Comment: I bought it last summer and autumn, the lens makes an indelible impression and introduces the buyer into the world of very high-quality images, someone will say that into the world of Elec) After him, many people have a desire to shoot only with glasses like him, and this is definitely good. I use both digital and film - flawlessly! It is not worth comparing with others, because this is blasphemy, and the price tag there is already different .. I shoot them a lot and am not going to change anything.

Advantages: Low price for the quality of the L-series. Aperture 4 constant at all focal lengths. Not too heavy. The thread for the filter is 67 mm, it is quite "running". Very sharp, but at the same time the picture is "live", three-dimensional.
Disadvantages: Lack of dust and moisture protection. Yes, do not be surprised, not all "Elki" are produced in this version. This was an unpleasant surprise for me, but it did not affect the choice. The monstrous size of the hood, however, Canon engineers know better. Removing the lens cap is inconvenient when the hood is on. No tripod ring included.
Comment: In fact, it is not white, but a pleasant beige shade. After it, you want to throw all your "budget" optics into the trash. Yes, there is no stabilizer, I want a larger aperture, sometimes the focal length is not enough, but it costs completely different money. The cheapest L-series lens at the moment, but this does not affect the quality of the images.

Advantages: Draws very beautifully. Not heavy. Convenient controls. Optimal distance between the "short" and "long" ends. Great for portraits. Moreover, both outdoors and indoors. Beautiful boke. Very sharp.
Disadvantages: Probably white body color. Too attention-grabbing. I do not indicate the absence of a stabilizer. this "twist" is not originally provided in this lens. There are other 70-200 for this. But still, it would be better with a stub ... Although the question of price immediately arises here. Now I would take it with a stub.
Comment: I bought second-hand from the first user. I do not regret it at all. I use it regularly. He's a permanent resident in my photo bag. It is very convenient to photograph them at concerts. Do not hope that this device is intended for photography. No. Rather, its purpose is "reportage / portrait" paired with some kind of wider zoom (eg, 24-70). Distances of 200mm are not enough for close-up shots of squirrels / birds / airplanes. This already requires 100-300 or more.

Advantages: First L-class lens I purchased. I am very pleased with the purchase, since in my opinion the price / quality of this glass is simply excellent. The glasses are very sharp. USM focusing, now I only buy glasses with it, on 7D very fast focusing. On the street, the photos are just gorgeous. I use it as a portrait lens, the drawing is simply gorgeous in my opinion. Indoors it smears the picture due to the lack of a stabilizer.
Disadvantages: For such a ratio of price / quality and characteristics - they simply do not exist. Only crooked hands of a photographer can be! Many people write in shortcomings that they say dark glasses, white. Dear ones, these are not flaws, this is a feature of this glass. If you want brighter - take 2.8 only for completely different money. And white, I consider an advantage, at least when lighting events, I catch the envious glances of other photographers))
Comment: When the 7D was purchased, the kit included an 18-55IS. I can't say anything bad about the whale lens, but I realized that I began to miss it, and after a couple of weeks, after a long search on the Internet and reading reviews, I decided to buy a 70-200mm 4L USM. I chose between Tamron 2.8, but Tamron blurred the picture by 200mm, I don't know, maybe I just got such a copy. I will say right away with the choice made in advance, they just persuaded to look at the tamron in the store, it turned out to be worse)) I use this glass all the time, the only negative is the size, I have to carry the bag with me, otherwise only positive emotions !!! From the must have series!

Advantages: Constructive, price / quality, sharpness
Disadvantages: I haven't found it yet ...
Comment: I took a used one and did not regret it. Excellent glass in every way! An ideal portrait photographer, very good for photographing animals and birds in the zoo, all kinds of genre scenes ...It works perfectly in tandem with the x1.4 extender, it was in this bundle that I used it for photography (there is no telephoto yet) and quite successfully. But still, photography is not his strong point, the lack of IP affects. Bottom line: Excellent, versatile glass that I recommend to everyone!
