Advantages: Stunning color rendering and drawing. Sharp, fast. + stabilizer.
Disadvantages: absent.
Comment: no matter what they say, but his drawing is portrait. The weight of 800 grams I would rather write down as a plus, because the heavier the lens with the carcass, the more stable they are in the hands. The construct is armored, moisture protection is good. The most beloved lens, because the pictures taken with it have some kind of barely noticeable magic. Such optics makes you improve in photography, and not rack your brains over the technical side of shooting (focusing, misses, CA, etc. ...). There are no competitors among fixes ... except AF 105/2 DC, but these are completely different tasks and money;)

Advantages: Very sharp picture, fast and accurate autofocus, fast, when focusing shows the real aperture.
Disadvantages: Have not found
Comment: Much has been said about this lens. As far as I know, the lens has no analogues at its focal length, which would have the same geometry, which is extremely convenient as it makes it possible to focus faster and more accurately. In general, I agree with those who wrote about him before me. The lens is great and extremely comfortable to use. Draws a sharp picture. Chromatic aberrations, which some write about, were not noticed.

Advantages: The lens is universal. Both macro and portrait in one person. Many will like it. Convenient construct. Switching focusing from automatic to manual is instantaneous, in addition, there is a corresponding switch on the body - this is the legacy of an ultrasonic motor. Again, the motor allows you to focus quickly and tenaciously. The number of misses is minimal. Sometimes vibration suppression system helps out. When shooting slowly, it is better to turn it off, but when filming a reportage, it helps a lot. The technical bells and whistles and sturdy body make the lens versatile, but what it really is worth respecting is the drawing. In addition to being sharp, crisp, it also has remarkable blur. Very nice drawing. After 70-200 f / 2.8, the quality of the 105th is visible, although the Nikon 70-200 f / 2.8 is almost the standard of reportage zoom.
Disadvantages: Disadvantages, disadvantages ... Yes, they are.In reality, the aperture is not f / 2.8, but "changes" depending on the focusing distance. This is somewhat annoying, although, I understand - that this is nonsense and nit-picking. =) There may be more price. But believe me, if you are shooting portraits or close-ups, it is difficult to find a better quality tool. It is customary to pay for quality.
Comment: For whom mythical technical parameters are important, as someone wrote here, then pay attention to other lenses. Who is afraid of the price - too. But in fact, if you take it not for fun, but with a serious intention to get consistently excellent results and if you use all its properties 100%, then the 105th will not disappoint. On the crop, by the way, it also gives a beautiful picture, but of course all the charm can be felt in the full frame. For the adequacy of the price, I set 4/5 - you always want it cheaper =)

Advantages: Strengths - Sharpness, VR-II, bokeh, very accurate AF (in good light) although with Micro only manual focus, the front lens does not rotate does not move for Micro helps does not scare the animals
Disadvantages: heavy, slightly bulky
Comment: As Micro - very happy with 5. Portrait at 5 (if a small room is not suitable - there is not enough distance) Report at 3 (heavy and you have to run back, which is not always possible) subject at 5 +++++++ the best result, I am very pleased with it, I advise you to take a lot photo from NIKON 105 mm f / 2.8G AF-S VR Micro- http://fotkidepo.ru/?id=album:29948 http://fotkidepo.ru/?id=album:27088

Advantages: Sharp, pleasant bokeh, stabilizer, protected.
Disadvantages: It is a versatile macro lens. When photographing insects, this emerged as a disadvantage.
Comment: China is proudly written on the lens, but it works great. And now about the features. The 105mm is a versatile macro lens. With such a focal length, it may well be used as a portrait lens. And now about the features of the lens. because of its 105 mm, it can cause some degree of inconvenience. For example, let's say you want to photograph a beautifully presented food. I mean not a staged photo, but so, from the summer. And in order for your beautifully-designed cake to enter the frame, you have to get up from the table and move a little distance. So for such purposes it is better to take a smaller makrik. But when shooting insects, the opposite is true: even when it comes close to the insect at the minimum focusing distance, the insect still occupies a small part of the frame and then it is necessary to sprinkle it. Macrics 150-200 mm are better suited for shooting insects. So this lens, like any "station wagon" has its compromises. But I keep it and I'm not going to change it for any other, because I am quite satisfied with the quality of this glass, the convenience of this lens for different situations, as well as a relatively compact size for this class of lenses. After more than a year of use, the thread of the hood fastening was hesitant and it began to dangle

Advantages: Sharpness, speed, compactness, stabilizer!
Disadvantages: None. A true uncompromising macro lens.
Comment: The lens is good from all sides: super fast, quiet and comfortable, fast. and even with a stabilizer and full macro capabilities (reproduction scale 1: 1) There is no such combination of properties on the market of full-frame optics for Nikon yet. It's also not too bulky and light enough.

Advantages: Excellent quality and sharpness of the picture. And with the engine against lubrication and vibrations, everything becomes even more accurate, it is almost impossible to remove the lubricant, if only you try very hard.
Disadvantages: Almost a year later, in home studio shooting with insufficient light (I used two flash-boots), I began to slow down, freezing and, as it were, blocking focus. I had to turn off / on the camera. I wanted to take it as a replacement for a grenade, but realizing that this was difficult to identify at the checkpoint - only in difficult lighting and poor shooting conditions, I began testing and testing again to make sure that it was 100% damaged. But he seemed to be cured. As before, I do not use it every week, I hope it is not a lens resource (small enough) when it starts to glitch.
Comment: All in all a wonderful thing. For me it is quite professional, I use it both in portraits, landscapes and in the subject matter. I advise!

Advantages: Excellent macro shoots Fast If you shoot portraits with them (for which I bought it), it's just awesome boke .... Fast and incredibly clear. every eyelash, every hair is visible))) Consider that the telephoto (on the crop generally 157mm) Very well made.
Disadvantages: Big, heavy Autofocus sometimes dulls. especially if you forget to switch the distance slider. The price is great ... but QUALITY!
Comment: Also my favorite lens. I shoot portraits on him, and I'm really happy to the point of impossibility)) I love such clarity.

Advantages: The sharpness is amazing. The appropriate detail. The colors are just lively. Micro mode - well, I just want to forget that you were shooting in macro before.
Disadvantages: Weight? Is 800 grams of good Japanese metal-weight? Price? And offer at least something resembling, cheaper, or for this price. The only thing is that this device has been produced for more than a year, in everyone's beloved China.
Comment: Alexander's review was very amusing, with impressive comparative characteristics. He's probably with a whale, and so it goes all his life. After all, according to tests, there are no lenses better by 200%. Or maybe these tests are fucking good. Just attach the lens and feel. I'm happy ... I am very pleased, especially since I bought a practically new Japanese car for 700 bucks.

Advantages: Sharp, light, high-quality build (although China). Very high quality glass for both portraits and macro.
Disadvantages: It's heavy, but it's not even a drawback .. Sometimes autofocus is dull, but you get used to it easily, especially since the m / a mode allows you to tweak the knobs if the autofocus gets lost))) (So this is not even a drawback, but a nuance)
Comment: In my life, I would not have thought that at aperture 2.8 it produces mega blur and very "expensive" bokeh, as in fifty dollars or in helios. A solid lens, high quality, sharp and pretty nimble. I haven’t had a chance to pomp so far, but as a portrait lens it is very, very ... The truth turns into a telephoto sensor on a crop matrix, but if you have hands - the photos are incomparable ... A pleasant surprise, not a lens.
