Comment: The experience with this lens is amazing. Very solid, well made. The design and quality of materials are excellent. Surprisingly sharp at 1.4. There are practically no chromatic aberrations. The hefty weight is both an advantage and a disadvantage depending on your preferences and shooting conditions. Heavyweight, as I expected, it does not feel. There was no possibility yet to compare with Canon 1.2L, Canon 1.4 is far behind without options. One of the authors wrote about the super quality of the Art line. I'm ready to argue with him. Of the three copies that I was holding in my hands, one had a motor screeching, the other had the lens jumping and shaking the camera, and only the third worked quietly and gently. So, choose a copy responsibly. Confident I put five stars for my copy.

Advantages: 1. Excellent optical characteristics: sharpness, starting from open, contrast, color rendering, aperture ratio, small CA; judging by the tests, this lens is one of the market leaders in terms of its optical properties; 2. Excellent workmanship: quality materials, nothing looseness anywhere, does not dangle; 3. Fast and accurate autofocus (but not out of the box, in my case); 4. Excellent bokeh pattern. 5. The set includes a hood and a carrying bag; 6. Convenient manual focusing (although rarely used); 7. Solid appearance. 8. Ease of use. 9. Great volume in the photo.

Disadvantages: Autofocus may not immediately make friends with Canon cameras and require adjustment. I did not find any more negative sides.

Comment: I love fifty rubles! I already have more than 5 different ones. But this lens amazed me! I don't want to take it off the phone. And the longer you use it, the greater the desire to continue filming. I have a Canon 5DMkII. After the purchase, a shift focus was revealed (correction from 0 at close distances, to +8 at infinity). This problem was completely solved in 30 minutes using Sigma USB Dock station. Now everything is always accurate. Definitely worth the money.

Disadvantages: The imperfect work of autofocus, unfortunately, the speed in comparison with the Canon 24-105 and 70-200 zooms is 2.8 lower, and it’s about moving objects (children), if you shoot adults, then the marriage is minimal and most likely through my fault.The perspective distortion is noticeably greater than that of the Canon 50 1.4. Of course, the huge size is not really a plus. Periodically I confuse it with 24-105.

Comment: Now I'm not afraid to shoot full-length portraits of fifty dollars, earlier out of 5 takes, miraculously, one was sharper than the rest. I relaxed with Sigma, because hitting up to 100%. The color rendition is interesting, it feels like orange and blue colors are enhanced. The color is dense, the image is more contrasting in itself. At open apertures, strong vignetting is noticeable, but did not record it as deficiencies. sometimes very much even in the subject. The image is half a stop lighter than the same one taken with the native fifty dollars. But this is also not a problem, but a feature. Also as a feature, you can record a slightly vibrating bokeh. Of course, perhaps, I have no delight in blurring, when compared with 35 1.4, 50 1.2 or 85 1.2, then in general everything is not artistic. But I took the lens for the room, so it doesn't bother me. In general, for me, this is the best 50 out of the tested Canon 50 1.8, 50 1.4 and 50 1.2. The first is not worth commenting at all, the second is quite normal, but the autofocus operation and the flimsy constructive made me think about a replacement. Elka also unpleasantly struck HA and the lack of sharpness at open apertures. Autofocus is also so-so. Therefore, a sharp and quite intelligible lens from Sigma won a place in my heart and backpack. Supplement - November 2017. With the purchase of 5d mark 4, the issue with vibrating bokeh disappeared - the lens draws in a completely different way, much softer. However, there was a need for adjustment. And in the speed of work, alas, the lens with the new camera did not increase.

Comment: I didn't know for a long time what to choose from 50mm on Canon. All other glasses had serious flaws. When I found out about this lens, I immediately decided to take it. And even ordered with delivery, because they write that the Art series is doing well with quality. The lens, which was brought without any adjustments, hits the target.

Advantages: - Very sharp both at distances up to a meter, and at 2-3-4 already starting from f / 1.4. - Quiet, accurate and very fast autofocus, the number of misses is minimal, another thing is to tinker with 1.4 to get close to the depth of field, because it really is a couple of centimeters in total. - Convenient design and materials, excellent focusing ring, the actual closing cover is also convenient even with the hood on. - Large weight (almost a kilogram), personally, I consider it an advantage rather than a disadvantage. - Chromatic aberrations and distortion are invisible at all, you don't even need to edit, the vignette is noticeable only at 1.4, but on the contrary, this gives the frame additional depth. - Gorgeous blur and great bokeh. - Excellent shots even against the sun or backlit.

Disadvantages: - Plastic hood, can break easily. - Lack of dust and moisture protection. - A lot of weight, for someone it can be critical.

Comment: Sigma has clearly changed for the better, I don’t consider all the old sigma glasses at all, but after the release of 35mm 1.4 Art, everything changed, and I am very pleased with the new company policy, this lens is for those people who don’t care about the red ring of Canon's native lens series L, this glass is for true connoisseurs and creative individuals, this is a magic glass, I will note for adequate money, it will allow you to reach a completely new level in photography! Unfortunately, I did not try it on the crop, but there is a suspicion that it will fit perfectly into the crop ... I tested it on my 6d ...compared to sigma 35mm 1.4 art - much better, there are no problems with photographs at long distances and open apertures, much smoother blur, more pleasant bokeh shape, and most importantly, the complete absence of perspective distortions inherent in FR 35 and below, in general I decided sell my 35mm and buy this lens, and it seems that I will not regret nirazu ... There was no opportunity to test it in the studio, but I think that there will be no problems at apertures closed to f / 8 -f / 11, but there will be insane sharpness, which is already limited by the size of the camera's matrix! Summarizing all of the above, the new Sigma 50mm f / 1.4 Art is a Masterpiece glass that easily beats from 50 1.2 from kenon (50 1.4 is not a competitor to it), an ideal ratio of price, quality and convenience, I personally recommend to everyone, read different reviews, look photos taken on it and you will immediately understand everything ...

Comment: I took this lens in addition to 35k, as a result I shoot portrait photo sessions only with them. before it was necessary to change and very often the optics - now the need for this has almost disappeared. The test results are surprising, or rather the opinion that this lens has no bokeh or drawing - wake up, this lens is all right with both bokeh and volume. I often use it in conjunction with a polarizing filter, and I am satisfied with the result. How a universal lens met my expectations one hundred percent.

Advantages: Sharp at 1.4 I like bokeh (although not everyone likes it) (for these 2 points, I forgive him all the jambs and am ready to put 5+) At any aperture values, it is much sharper than Canon's. The picture is excellent, almost absent. HA Almost does not catch glare (although on the old canon I tried to use it in +) The contrast is higher. Photos from the studios are now less color corrected.

Disadvantages: smears focus from the store (in krsk there is no docking station in stores)

Comment: I bought myself this lens choosing from 2x. At 1dm4 in the camera, the correction is +5 and the focus almost does not miss. On 6d, it does not even require an amendment - it will get into focus anyway. In general, I am more than completely satisfied with the lens !!! I took to use Canon 50 f1.2 for 1 evening - autofocus is slow, the drawing was not impressive.

Advantages: All the virtues of Sigma's Art line, sharp in the open, stunning detail, accurate autofocus, minimal distortion and venieting

Disadvantages: Weight, slight chromatism

Comment: Well, the first batch is already in Moscow. The lens turned out great! Very sharp on the open, moderately artistic bokeh, very accurate autofocus - it hits without a miss, which I did not expect from Sigma, even native Canon lenses cannot boast of such accuracy "from the factory" (maybe the fact is that the first batch is quality control more strict). There is a slight veneering at the open aperture, which is not necessary to treat and a small chromatism, which for such a contrast lens is a huge achievement. From design features - heavy (815 gr). But I'm used to heavier glasses, the hood is just in the subject: it is convenient to put it with the attached handle. I am very pleased with the purchase, I recommend it to everyone.
