Advantages: Much has already been said about the lens. It is really unique in many respects: both in resolution and in moderate distortion (this is with such and such focal points!), And in drawing, and in constructiveness, and in focusing - and all this is very well balanced. Yes, there are analogs with a thread for a filter, but they are worse either in resolution or in coverage angle, or the aperture ratio is lower, or something else is lame. There is simply nothing completely similar in this focal range in terms of the combination of advantages.
Disadvantages: The main drawback has also been repeatedly said: the inability to put a regular filter. BUT! The good news is that the problem, although expensive, can be solved. How - see below.
Comment: It would be a sin to buy such a magnificent shirik and not be able to put landscape filters on it. Kudos to Lee for the SW-150 mount that is specially designed for this lens. But then, alas, again about the cons. Of course, about the price of such a holder complete with filters 150x170 mm. even writing is scary (on the Internet auctions, however, there are also non-original adapters, search for "lee holder nikon 14-24" or "lee sw 150") Of course, the choice of filters of this size in Russia is rather scarce, if not absent at all ... Of course, there is no polarizer of this size. And of course, this is all - not protective filters, it is convenient to use them, perhaps, only for stationary photography with a tripod. However, it would be unfair not to mention the very possibility of a partial way out of the situation. But this is not why such lenses are bought in order to wind up a UV filter and go to beat all corners with it, right? For serious thoughtful work, there is a complete set of filters you need, including neutral grays and tints. Well, for those who shoot a report and do not hope for their accuracy there is a 17-35 f / 2.8;)

Advantages: Perfectly balanced, you hardly feel the weight on a full frame body. Distortion can be treated well. I have not yet caught the obvious chromatics. Much has been said about sharpness, but there are also disadvantages from it). The assembly and mechanisms are excellent.
Disadvantages: He has no particular flaws. The most you pay attention to is a decrease in sharpness at the corners and edges on a wide one, but this disadvantage is from dignity - it is very sharp in the center, you involuntarily compare it with the corners and the edge. To love to catch hares - even when it seems that the light source does not get into the lens at all).
Comment: Who needs a CPL can be found on a well-known Chinese trading platform. Polarik plus nozzle at the rate at the end of December 2015 about 17,000-20,000 supernaturals. Look carefully for the 145mm filter and the corresponding adapter, which can also be used for square plates. The adapter is collapsible, you can only leave the round for the corresponding CPL filter. Although in reality the polarizer is not always good at wide, the color depth shades of the same sky can vary from edge to edge of the frame, this is very noticeable here (although it is a different lens, but the main thing is a wide angle).

Advantages: Excellent autofocus performance, even though it's not really needed here. Sharpness 5+. It shows itself perfectly in staged portraits in nature. Best of all for landscapes, f11-16 has the perfect sharpness / detail ratio. By the way, the detail is great! On crop it gives 21-36, which allows it to be used as a last resort, even for full-length portraits in the same staged and wedding photography (it turns into a comfortable normal shirik). In night shooting, it catches autofocus well already with 2.8. Chromatic aberrations are minimal.
Disadvantages: A convex lens often gets dirty, especially in harsh conditions. Heavy. Perhaps both disadvantages should not be taken into account when buying, these are trifles.
Comment: Sharpness - 10 Detail - 10 Autofocus accuracy - 9 Autofocus time from full turbidity to a point - 0.6 sec Constructive - 8 The price / quality ratio fully justifies!

Advantages: Widest full-frame angle in the Nikkor range. Excellent build quality. Cool picture Good sharpness right from F2.8.
Disadvantages: - At 14mm, there is a slight distortion, which can be easily fixed in a graphics editor. - Price and weight. But there are no easy and cheap "golden rings" for a full shot.
Comment: An excellent lens for fans of a wide angle on a full frame. Not even so much for amateurs (for most photographers, 16 and 17mm will be enough), but for true connoisseurs and fans of wide-angle madness. Excellent color rendition and sharpness of the picture. I use it on D700.

Advantages: Full frame sharpness, wide angle, fast focusing.
Disadvantages: Now separately about the build quality. I checked everything, it works as it should. After 2 days (not active !!!!) of operation, a rubber O-ring came out from under the front lens. I had to contact the service center. After 2 days, a conclusion was written that this was a factory defect and without sound the lens was replaced with a similar one.
Comment: I've been using it for 3 months now and now he really makes me happy. The picture is just great. No Canon with its 16-35 even holds a candle. And despite the marriage that came across to me at first, I'm ready to forgive Nikon :)

Advantages: Wonderful colors, crazy sharpness, solid construction
Disadvantages: I will only note the bulky cover
Comment: For a long time I shoveled the net when looking for a wide-angle for 800ki. I decided to take a chance and take the top right away. Before that, there was no such focal range. Impressions from the purchase itself are very bright. The lens seems to collect color. The saturation is crazy, sometimes it even needs to be adjusted negatively. Sharpness is excellent throughout the entire range of FR and diaphragms, only the very periphery suffers. This effect is enhanced by the editor when editing geometry and vignette, which is hardly noticeable at such a corner. With the purchase, I gradually began to forget how to sew panoramas with a large number of shots in one row, now you can take fewer shots and increase the row. This obliges to re-master the panorama. So, some habit, skill, the lens still requires, which makes up for a great picture! A separate word about filters. This is Lee, and a couple moreHow about offices, for a set of which you have to pay a lot of money. This is not a minus, this is a feature. The dimensions are weighted, in my opinion, the lens is even more convenient than the 24-70. If filters are for you a fundamental point in choosing a width, then you should look at other lenses. Otherwise, the lens is a must-have!

Advantages: Silent and precise focusing. Excellent color rendering. Sharpness at all FRs. Constructive.
Disadvantages: Convex lens.
Comment: The gold ring pays off 100%. I use it with D700 and I can say that on FR 14 it is almost a fisheye - tilt a little from the horizon and creative distortions appear in the viewfinder. 114 degrees of view. Finally I was able to photograph my entire room. The weight is normal, 70-200 is much heavier! The convex lens is a little annoying, but firstly, the edges of the hood protrude beyond the lens, thereby protecting the glass, and secondly, a cover is put on the lens, a kind of cap))) thirdly, I think that there is a special coating applied there, but of course I did not try to try for strength)

Advantages: Excellent image quality at all focal length ranges and at all apertures. Aperture ratio. Dust and moisture protection.
Disadvantages: There is no possibility of using light filters.
Comment: An excellent lens, especially for a full frame. Stunning sharpness across the entire field of the frame starting from aperture of 2.8. Very good for landscapes, interiors. Due to design features (huge convex front lens) it is impossible to attach a light filter to it. It's somehow scary for such an expensive lens when it is without a protective filter. Yes, and sometimes a polarik is necessary.

Advantages: Reference picture quality in all conditions, including the strongest backlight. Really wide angle! Sharpness from edge to edge is the true truth, not a proclamation!
Disadvantages: There is no thread for installing light filters.
Comment: The lens impresses not only with its size and weight, but also with commensurate consumer qualities. Uncompromising wide-angle, instant focus and high aperture are so well blended in this product that the lens simply cannot be compared. No discrete lens can fully combine this with the unprecedented image quality of Nikon. This is a true "discrete killer" !!!

Advantages: Shirik without fear or reproach. Perfectly sharp throughout the frame, at all apertures, and throughout the phased array. Fast and tenacious focus. Anti-reflective coating. Everything is like 24-70) Gives amazing wide angles in full frame without distortion, as much as possible with a view of 114 degrees)
Disadvantages: Weight. 1000 is a lot. Very bulky. Convex front lens - easy to bump, smudge. Price.
Comment: Great lens for landscapes and unusual angles.
